Damn, early. He's only 34. Still playing at high level and Giants contenders.

3x WS catcher, right, and one of the better hitting catchers of the last 30 yrs.

Baseball writers will salivate over him. He'll get in 1st ballot.

Watching him at Florida st— was obvious the guy would be an mlb star.

Would’ve had more gold gloves if yadi didn’t hoard em all

Posey’s long list of achievements includes the 2012 NL MVP Award, seven All-Star selections, four Silver Slugger Awards, and a Gold Glove in 2016.  He retires with 158 home runs and a career slash line of .302/.372/.460 over 5607 plate appearances, and is likely heading for a Hall Of Fame induction in five years’ time.

I wonder if any player has ever won Comeback Player of the Year in his last year to ever play of their career.

Surprising. Seems like he still has a decent amount of gas left in the tank. Wonder how much of this is him not featuring in the giants long-term plans and not wanting to play somewhere else

If he played for the Yankees he’d get the Jeter treatment

First ballot no doubt. Surprising since NL may go to Substitute hitter next year.

No. That’s prime Molina before he got old and lazy.

Mariano Rivera won it and retired the year after he tore his acl shagging balls

Fun fact, his real first name is Gerald.

Great player and a HOF’er at some point. But I think the one thing I’ll always remember about him is that the rules about running over a catcher were changed when he got hurt w/ a play at the plate.

Easily. He and Joe Mauer are probably the two best catchers of the 2010s.
