I’ve never been consciously aware of the word. Couldn’t tell you what it meant if I hadn’t read this thread. Early 30’s here

oh i said the G-word is used a lot more. like i was arguing earlier, the Vietnam was was (and still is) a big deal b/c it was the primary motivator for one of the most foundational periods in American history (so cherished the Left keeps trying to invent a new version of it constantly)
both are pretty niche these days. most race or ethnic-based insults are pretty niche, outside of the n-word (b/c it's used by black people quite commonly). you don't hear many references to my people like WOP or guinea or dago anymore, either

While it is probably that Davis did not know the meaning of the word, he should not get a pass like Leonard did not get one, when the one Davis used is FAR FAR more common than the one Leonard used.

yeah if the argument is based in ignorance, then he should get the same treatment as Leonard b/c that was his argument, too

Comparing the two words is dumb. Davis may get a pass because he’s a starter on a championship team. Miami would have kept Leonard around if he was a better player.

That’s a fair statement , but I thought Leonard was a starter? Just looked at his stats last year and he started 49 of 51 games
