What's the current projected cut? Curious if Rickie is gonna squeeze into the weekend.

+4 gets in right now. That's T67

+5 is T86

Unless they go strictly within 10 shots, then it's +5, but right now, that would put 96 guys making the cut

For sure. Calling it now. If JT goes E for the rest of the week, he'll win by at least 3

Yeah, there are a lot of guys at +3 and +4 teeing off this afternoon. I'm thinking +5 is safe

It’s probably going to be +5 or +6 according to data golf. Off chance it gets to +7.

Looks like the super said frick the USGA and rolled the greens last night. Word from the NLU crew, members of Wing Foot gave intel that the grounds crew was not allowed to place tough pin placement and roll the greens yesterday Seems like the crew took over and with the wind, the course is abusing the players besides Victor, DJ, Xander, and Bubba. fricking Pieterson is getting his arse kicked after taking the lead.

The super/grounds crew aren't the ones who decide pin placements, rough length, green speeds, etc. the USGA basically tells them what to do.

The USGA makes suggestions. The members and the grounds crew were pissed yesterday because of the set up and :coughed: voiced the displeasure and opinion :cough: to trick it more and make the players work for good scores.

The members are not going to watch the course get crushed after spending a shite load of money for Hanse to come in and bring back the greens A W designed it to be.

Man this is getting nasty. Earlier, someone's approach barely trickled onto the green but still rolled all the way across the green, about 120 feet, and down the slope on the other side.

I didn't realize Ricky blew up so hard. Damn. Thought this might be the one.

It was suggested to the USGA that the set up needs to be more difficult.

quote:

Tron Carter @TronCarterNLU · 14h Excited for tomorrow. If the USGA makes it too tough then they’re admitting they fricked it up today. If they go too soft then they’re dealing with a full scale member revolt, at a place where 300 guys seem to think they’re on the greens committee and all are chirping

73 will be a very good score this afternoon.

The reason there was a big argument between the USGA and the Winged Foot superintendent last nigh? The USGA wants the winning score to be even par. Winged Foot wants the winning score to be +5.

That's often a good formula for a boring finish with one guy beating the field by multiple strokes.

The members want to watch these guys struggle. What are the US Opens people really remember? When it's hard as frick.
