I would bet and watch

Not sure how long it would last it how many eye balls would watch, but I'd be in it to win it

Says the LSU fan who is against at the idea of a single FBS playoff that includes all the conferences b/c it's not fair that some teams have easier schedules.

It’s not even that it’s not “fair”, it’s just a waste to include G5 teams because they obviously don’t have the talent to compete with upper echelon power conference schools.

I would also watch it.

I would much prefer to watch a Tulane vs JMU G5 playoff game than either of the CFP matchups that those teams are involved in.

Give us competitive games that are entertaining.

I'm actually fine with breaking away from the big conferences now. This semi-pro junior NFL thing is not college football.

Yet Rutgers can stay in a Power conference.......

Oh come on, now. Alabama or LSU paying Patel some cash to take the Math 92 Final for their stud receiver is exactly what college athletics is supposed to be.

Sure, and they’ll probably never make the CFP. I don’t see the relevance of the comment.

Imagine how much better a team like Tulane would be with the resources that Rutgers gets from being in their conference.

I don't think actual college football fans who enjoy competition would "look down" on a G6 playoff like some people keep saying on social media. I don't know anybody who looks down on the FCS playoffs and they're fricking awesome.

It's not about "demoting" G6 schools, it's about creating a competitive environment where there's a more even playing field. From a money standpoint, I'm sure JMU would rather lose 65-0 to Oregon in the CFP than win a G6 playoff, and that's understandable, but from a competition and fandom perspective, I'd much rather have closer, more exciting games.

I don't have anything personally against Tulane, or even JMU.

Just in their current iteration they don't have the resources to field a team that will be competitive versus the upper echelon power conference schools, and it's absurd that we're supposed to pretend that they can.

Carparelli believes providing neutral postseason sites, like most other NCAA sports have, is paramount. “When you get to that level, having a competitively fair, neutral site environment is very important,” he says.

That's why the site a year if you transfer needs to come back.

would get kicked back by the courts immediately, even in your scenario where the player is still being paid, they are losing a year of development

It would be awesome for MAC schools, etc. to be playing for actually something bigger.

I have no idea why they wouldn't want it.

Every G6 underclassmen player being courted by a P4 team would still opt out of this dogshit proposal.

Subpar and Mid P4 programs’ Fans are cheering for this to make sure that they are 1 of 62 teams ever fighting for 12 spots.

They want their place at the big table never threatened and knowing they won’t ever win their conference but hopes to get the #11 or #12 At-Large spot one year.

Cheers to both Tulane and JMU playing their rears off tomorrow to show everyone that the margins aren’t that far apart.

If it included mid tier B1G or SEC teams that don't make the CFP, then you'd have an actual point.

And have an additional $50-55 Million at their disposal to recruit, pay athletes, pay coaches, etc.

Rutgers gets about $60 Million per year paid to them from the Big 10 media contract. Tulane gets $7 Million via the AAC contract.

Only a moron would think a Tulane program, that is committed internally like the have been the past few years to their football, couldn't compete with a Big 10 schedule if they had that sort of additional funding.
