Yep. My Man Brees should have left NO with 3 Rings.

Saints fans been this way since bountygate. Obviously that no call was bullshite but acting like it's some high level conspiracy that goes to the top is just paranoia

It had nothing to do with gambling, it was Goodell stopping Sean Payton at all costs

That is why I tend to not watch NFL games and I would never bet on them. I know that professional wrestling is fake and most people believe me. I also believe that professional football is fake, but very few believe me.

Damn…some of you people.

I remember some lawyer, from the Lafayette area I believe, constantly ranting that after that game that the NFL should ban that Rams defender from the league because of that one play.

The no call was horrendous.

However, on the Rams drive just before, they missed a just as obvious face mask on Goff on 3rd down that would have given the rams 1st down on the saints 1

By missing the call rams kicked field goal to tie instead taking lead

Seems like the moment of the game was too big for that crew

Also, if you’re going to rig a game, wouldn’t you do it by relying on something a little less risky than a 57 yd FG in OT?

The fact is that Drew Brees missed a 3 yard slant pass to a wide open Michael Thomas that would have essentially ended the game. He makes that pass 49 out of 50 times. The next play was the uncalled PI.

It’s completely irrelevant that Brees missed a prior opportunity. Anyone who watches football understands that just about every play shows a player making a mistake of some sort. That is part of the game. What is not part of a game is a ref missing a PI so obvious and egregious while staring right at it. Football depends on refs properly officiating games, and that didn’t happen.

I don’t know that the game was rigged, but the Saints were absolutely cheated on a blatant PI that required no thought to make. There was no grey area there.

I have a hard time believing there is a conspiracy simply bc I don’t think it could be kept secret. But considering how many ticky tack PI flags are thrown nowadays, it’s hard to understand how that blatant one was missed.

And there is no way in hell that 32 owners with a significant portion of their net worth tied to on field success of their team would agree to a scripted game.

Jerry Jones would kill off his immediate family for one more ego stroking super bowl. Do you think he would sit around for the last 35 years not reaching one knowing the outcome is predetermined?

Right. The NFL like all pro sports can never be seen as scripted.

But Jesus frick, it’s hard to explain that no-call when the ref was staring at it.

I’ve got no love for the saints or hate for the Rams but it was painfully obvious that with Rams moving to LA and having minimal enthusiasm in the second biggest market in the US that if it was close LA was going to win.

Have games been fixed by individual players, coaches and refs? You would have to be naive to think not. Does it go to the top where the league is actively involved? I doubt it. I wouldn't rule out a conversation with refs that implies the league would favor a certain outcome, but active involvement would involve too many people and no way that remains quiet.

I’m tired of hearing this. It’s absolutely possible for large secrets to be kept.

FFS the United States built an entire city to develop the atom bomb and kept the whole thing hush hush until we fricking dropped one on Japan.

It’s absolutely possible

How about that Green Bay game - Vikings up by 16 late in 4th and Green Bay kicks a meaningless field goal? I think the Vikings were getting 13.50 points.

That's what really sucks about that loss. It felt like Rams fans were rewarded for the indifference while we were punished for our passion.

He went after NOLA for the fake "bounty gate"
And New England for the fake "deflate gate."

I don't believe the game was fixed but I believe it was a terrible call and given the stakes and the moment and that everyone knew it - one of the worst calls of all time in any sport.

And it cost my Saints another Super Bowl appearance.
