He’s a lot more proven than Herman.

I’m starting to think Tom Herman is in over his head and isn’t as good a coach as many thought.

I get a “I’m smarter than you” vibe from him. That works if you are, but maybe he’s not as smart as he thinks.

He’s a MENSA member. He’s smart. I think the problem is Texas....as in the state of Texas. That state has embraced the spread so extensively that they have foregone tough football. They don’t value tough defense in the state of Texas at the high school level and it’s killing their large collegiate programs when they play out of state teams that do place extreme value on tough defense and physical offenses.

It appears that Herman is in a bad spot at Texas and his weaknesses are being exposed as well.

I still think he’s a good coach with a bright future. Dabo struggled until he changed the culture at Clemson. If given time, Herman can change the culture at Texas with the help of out of state recruiting success.

I’ve said the same as well. Texas HS football is soft

Herman seems to be lacking in maturity and trying to make it up with bravado
The PC yesterday he looked shaken, like he is doubting himself

I think he made some really questionable choices with his Asst Coaches, valuing loyalty over ability and it is costing him dearly

Uh, yeah just a tad.

Hes a tool, plain and simple but you have to actually have done something to get a pass for being a tool. Herman thinks hes done something, he hasn't done shite.

Coach Herman should have stayed at UH.

It's also not very correct

By and large the only position group really affected in Texas by the high school ball is linebacker. But the state still churns out a high number of prospects everywhere else

GMAFB. The Mensa shite means NOTHING when it comes to motivating kids and putting them in the right spots to be successful.

You can be autistic and mute and still be MENSA.

There has to be something to it.

Think about the last time a Texas-based team was really good and tough on the line of scrimmage. Yet in the last 5 years you see Bama, Clemson, Ohio St, LSU, Georgia, Auburn, etc almost every year in that category. Over that same time frame, where are the Texas teams??

A&M had a great run of offensive lines until 3 or so years ago. TCU routinely fines players. There really isnt anything wrong with the players or the high school system, outside of linebackers. It has everything to do with the culture at the schools themselves
