Nope not Burger King. It goes to Kirby Smart. He has a chance inside the 10 yard line to kick the fg down 24-21 and opts to go for it on 4th and 1 and gets stuffed. Now time is running out on the Dawgs when it should be tied instead he is still losing by 3. Smdh

Didn't he also turn down a FG in the 1st half?

Can people stop arguing that making dumb decisions are actually smart decisions because some analytic chart that no one has actually seen says it’s smart?

Kirby just shits pants whenever he plays Bama. It doesn’t seem to matter that Saban is gone for him. Smart is good for at least a few dumbass decisions in those games

Some coaches absolutely HATE points.

If Kirby has a conscience he will lose sleep over not kicking the tying FG down 24-21 with like 11 minutes left.

You can bombard me all day with analytical stuff, but one thing it can never account for is emotion and momentum. Alabama controlled that game from that point forward. I am not sure they seize control if the game is tied there.

I’ll take both here.

BK did the same thing against Clemson, and it could have cost us big. He doesn’t make in game adjustments. Instead of trying to adjust/makes changes, he seems to be coasting to cash his 10 million/year checks instead of actually trying to get to the playoffs.
He also hasn’t coached this team well enough to understand the purpose of conserving timeouts while trailing, a clear lack of preparation

Smart has a giant Bama monkey on his back. Analytics be damned, take the points dummy.

Lincoln Riley thought his defense could get a stop with 2 minutes left in a game. Just lmao

You can say the exact same thing if it went the other way lol

If they got that 4th down conversion and a TD, then they absolutely take all the momentum away and Bama doesn’t recover. Georgia wins. He made a ballsy call that didn’t work. It happens sometimes.

I didn’t think it was a bad call.

They got genuinely anything they wanted on the edge. It took 1 of Alabama’s remaining healthy DL Superman diving, while being tackled by his own teammate, to just barely knock the ball carrier off balance and to the ground.

That’s a TD 95/100 times

The decisions to skip logic and momentum for analytics are absolutely stupid.

makes you really question wtf is going on. Almost like it had something to do with gambling. That decision was a 1 bazillion no brainer to kick the fg.

This was more egregious than not taking the field goal

He threw a tied game and a momentum-neutral position in the trash to make that ballsy call.

And, even if they covert, it doesn’t mean they get the TD. They still needed 7 more yards against a Bama team that really needed and wanted to win this game. That’s not a given.

and they ran it a no huddle, half the team looked confused, out of position, then not ready, ball snapped and bama player tripped him up,

it was a terrible play call
