but here are some teams that have openings in 2011, according to nationalchamps.net: Michigan, Oklahoma, Arizona, Texas A&M, Alabama (though the Crimson Tide plays at Penn State in 2011), Texas, Oklahoma State

do they have openings on the weeks where BSU has openings?

And about 10 teams have turned the Broncos down, according to Benson.

we don't know (1) if this is true or (2) what BSU was asking for

remember FSU talked shite about LSU not scheduling them in 2005 (when FSU played USC) but LSU already had a game scheduled in that slot. does anyone expect the big teams to re-shuffle their schedules (possibly conference schedule) to make david-loving americans happy?

this happens to major programs also, and they deal with it. they don't always schedule 1AA schools

You clearly don't realize that scheduling works both ways.

not true imo

very true

BSU wore down in the fricking piece of shite WAC last year

quote:

they would start getting more money from that conference and will get better athletes and will stick

we are talking about 2010 BSU. not mythical BSU

quote:

they will eventually get into a conference somewhere

BSU would be lucky to get into the MWC. their academics are half a notch above JUCO

and you fail to realize that BSU is the ONLY major non-BCS program who claims they can't get a game

why can FSU lock up multiple BCS opponents outside of the west in most years?

why can teams like BYU, TCU, Utah, etc?

Utah is the most storied non-BCS program of the BCS era, and they can get the games. BYU has the most modern history of the current major non-BCS programs, and they can get the games.

it seems that the problem lies with BSU itself

is this thread about BSU being pre-season #1 for 2010 or 2014?

Boise turned down a two for one with Nebraska. I don't think that many people from Boise even want to play for a national championship. They seem pretty content going undefeated against a shite schedule and playing in a BCS bowl game every game every year. They're not like the Mountain West teams who always bitch about "not getting a chance".

right now, yes.............I also said eventually. I didn't put any timetable on it.

The MWC may not have a choice if the pac ten takes a team or two.

I honestly wish Boise could have gotten in over Texas somehow last year. The pounding Bama would have given them would have stopped this for a few years

Boise had no chance of getting in over any undefeated team or Florida. They were WAY behind

Alabama
Texas
Cincinnati
TCU
Florida

Last year Fresno played:
UC-Davis
@Wisconsin
@Cincinnati
@Illinois

Fresno isn't any closer to these BCS teams than Boise

When was this written?

quote:

7. Oregon Ducks

(Steve Dykes/Getty Images)
With USC on the ropes now that Pete Carroll has left town (sorry Lane Kiffin; you are no Carroll), Oregon finally has the chance to seize control of the Pac-10. The Ducks won the 2009 league title behind the spectacular play of quarterback Jeremiah Masoli and tailback LaMichael James, and the good news for the Ducks is that both of those guys are back for 2010. The Ducks will put up a ton of points and are clearly the team to beat in the Pac-10. The USC era is over. The day of the Duck has arrived.

In the SEC, ‘Bama is known for crushing defense and Florida is known for innovative offense. As for LSU? Well, these days, they’re known for nothing. Except maybe underachievement.

Ouch. Truth hurts.
