Blatant Corruption Like This Kills My Passion For College Football

And largely makes me only want to watch LSU. Honestly, I haven't even watched the LSU game for the last hour because I'm so p*ssed over the Western Michigan screw job. And I don't even have a dog in that fight!
15 years, I absolutely followed college football more than the NFL. In the last 10 years though, I absolutely follow the NFL more. I really enjoy the higher quality of play and the 12 minute halftimes (20 minute halftimes in college are just painful). But more than any of that, while I know the NFL is biased towards certain teams, I respect the fact that the NFL isn't completely blatant about it. I enjoy the fact that the NFL doesn't outright protect teams like college football protects teams like Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame, Alabama, Oregon and Georgia.
That's what the powers to be don't get in college sports. Stuff like this kills my enjoyment of college football. I was excited for college football today, and stuff like the Western Michigan fiasco just instantly reminds me why I've watched less and less college football and more and more NFL over the last 10 - 15 years. That Western Michigan fiasco puts a sour taste in my mouth for college football for the rest of the weekend for me.
I mean sure, it's Western Michigan. But does anyone doubt that if it was LSU, they wouldn't have done the same thing? Especially with all the drama currently? On the flip side, if Western Michigan was playing Michigan State or Purdue, instead of Michigan, does anyone really think Michigan State or Purdue are getting that extra play? We all know the answer. And it's sickening.

I did this with the NFL after the no call
Stopped betting on the league
Stopped playing fantasy football
Only watched the Saints and sometimes a little more football if they won.
Got back a lot of my time on Sundays.

Thank you for that. It bothered me greatly. Gosh, golly, ge whiz, somehow that one second just happened to be found, and they took so much time finding it, that Michigan had their play ready for a Hail Mary.
Next time, they'll follow basketball and have a second clock with each second subdivided ad nauseum.

When billions of dollars are at stake, nothing is left to chance. I am steaming mad right now and I don't give a hoot about WMU or Michigan. But this is wrong. Everyone who has seen this knows it's wrong, and yet we're supposed to just accept that nothing can be done and let the corruption continue.

I think it’s BECAUSE it’s Western Michigan this shouldn’t be swept under the rug. They literally owned them the whole game. Not many schools like that get the chance to get a W on a traditional in-state powerhouse. Like I said in some other thread, college football is a dumpster fire, and I’m here to watch it burn.

The only way this stops is for gamblers who lost money on this game, who should have won money, and for the casino companies, to sue for damages. Those gamblers who bet on Western Michigan won this game.
And before anyone says "this helps the sportsbooks", I guarantee you more money was put on Michigan compared to Western Michigan. This blatant corruption cost casinos money.
If they only care about money, hit them where it hursts, in the pocket book. I'm sure that fake play caused tens of millions of dollars to possibly be lost.
It was one thing when it was corrupt when no money (at least officially and not under the table) was involved. Now major gambling money is involved and this can not be tolerated.

Oh I agree, they'll try to push it under the rug because it's Western Michigan, but I hope Western Michigan doesn't allow it.
Western Michigan and the MAC need to be suing Michigan, the Big Ten and the replay official and head ref directly. The entire replay crew and ref crew need to be investigated, including if they had any money on the game.

Same for me with the no call game. I no longer set aside my sundays for the nfl. If it’s on & i don’t have things to do I’ll watch the saints. I find I get way more done with the day not being dedicated to the nfl.

It’s all a racquet and will keep the rich rich whilst kiddos burn cash and ignite the e economy some as the nfl declines in every single area outside place kicking.

How is this any different than the SEC fixing games for years?
The SEC is the most blatant conference when it comes to cheating.
Hell, the infamous kick six doesn't happen if any team but Bama was on offense. That is just one of hundreds of examples of how blatant the SEC is in fixing games.

If it was ULM playing in Tiger Stadium vs. LSU with the SEC refs, zero doubt in my mind the same would have occured. Or South AL playing at Alabama, or Arkansas State playing at Arkansas.
And similar if Miami-Ohio at Ohio State, or Delaware at Penn State.
