Is Ryan Clark proposing they just stop playing football?
In this situation, yes.
He was not saying the NFL should go away.

With the quick reaction I'm hoping he wasn't without oxygen for long.
provided they knew what they were doing when giving CPR, he has a puncher's chance of avoiding serious brain injury...

My wife said that's as good of an update you could get at this point.

These guys get paid millions to play football. Why are these ex players acting like hes a victim of some oppressive system?? Annoying

No, he’s giving perspective as a player how hard it is to get focus back to playing football. Even if they decide to play tomorrow.

I’m a Steelers fan. I love Ryan Clark.
He just seemed to be rambling on a soapbox jumping around and around.
ETA. I’m also multi tasking and not fully paying attention so that’s probably it. But there was a 30 second stretch I put my iPad down and was utterly confused by what he was saying.

How long can the brain go without blood flow until you see permanent damage to it?
Well you will see apoptosis and necrosis due to lack of perfusion within 1-2 minutes, as levels of glutamate and aspartate will lead to Ca2+ overload and start a cascade of cellular injury. After 5 minutes you might see larger areas of damage and after 10 minutes the chances of death are high.

declared a no contest
An outcome must occur, likely a tie, but it sucks for the bengals they would have had the 2 and the head to head if they won tonight
As their reward for being good sports the bengals might have to replay this game in buffalo in a few weeks

quote:Thats the same as giving both team a loss in terms of standings for the current seeding situation. So that doesn’t really work
Thats probably just whay they are saying now. Doubt this gets played and probably will end up being declared a no contest

This is the second thread in 2-3 weeks that I’ve refreshed 1.2 million times for updates. The first was the two little girls missing on the north shore.
Eta: thanks for the updates

I don’t know if the SVP/ Clark dialogue is the way to cover this. Just seems to be stoking the flames of emotion over and over. I feel like you just cover the actual facts and news right now.

Recently took a class in CPR you have triple the odds of making it if administered in the first few minutes...glad the medical team was quick to be aware of the situation.

Update on Damar:
His vitals are back to normal and they have put him to sleep to put a breathing tube down his throat. They are currently running tests.
@jordonr
We will provide updates as we have them.

Have to fill airtime somehow. The facts take 90 seconds to cover

Pretty crazy how great the medical care is at major professional sporting events.
If this happens in a high school or even a college game this guy has no chance.

Kinda hard when no news is coming out.
They've spoken to two reporters at the hospital that have said the same thing.

ESPN: it’s just a game his health is what matters.
Also ESPN: hurry and get to the hospital views matter

This isn’t at all how it’s coming across. They realize that at any point something like this could happen, and it’s tragic when it does. Nobody is saying he’s some unwitting victim of football.
