I strive to make that same type of impact on folk’s lives.
There’s just nothing better than being human with strangers.

If you’re a fan of the Grateful Dead and listen to their music, you’ll understand Bill Walton. Definitely a free spirited hippie (teenager in the late 60’s) who was extremely cerebral. Walton expanded his personal life experiences through music and mind altering psychedelics. I’ve met him before and seen him at dozens of GD concerts. Bill was a kind soul and left this earth way too soon b/c of cancer. I purchased several of Bill’s personal items sold at his estate sale.

Absolutely nothing topped a 10pm est tipoff between Oregon and Arizona St with Walton and Pasch on the call.

Some original late 60’s concert playbills, concert posters, and a custom Jay Blakesberg photograph from GD50 Fare Thee Well - Santa Clara (gifted to Bill from Mickey)

Why not both?
How about all three if we include that he was one of the best centers ever.
Im was at this show at the Sphere when they did his tribute. It was great.

I used to make fun of him when he did games on TV but then grew to enjoy his crazy ramblings. ‘In the history of Western Civilization…’

My bill walton story…
My parents went to a Ratdog concert at the HOB in Nola. My mom noticed him and asked if he’d sign a napkin as Adam Walton’s dad ( he was at LSU) for her son. He politely said that’s a lot does he know I played too? He signed the napkin which I still have framed with the ticket stub. After signing my mom told him how Adam was my favorite player and we are rooting for him. He graciously listened thanked her and the next morning I woke up with an autograph and a story.

Be careful of how you judge people on your individual experiences. I laughed at Bill commentating ball games quite often, and thought that he was high most of the time. He may have been, but he was a genuinely good guy, it seems.
