Might have a hard time hitting a strike. Of course, this pitcher was never going to pitch a strike to Papi.

If you have seen the pitch chart of that at bat, Big Papi walking out on the pitch didn't affect the pitcher at all. That 3-0 pitch was about the closest of the 4 pitches to the strike zone.

Look at where the catcher set up.
There is no doubt that Neil Ramirez was pitching around Ortiz in that game in that situation. And I honestly can't fault Ortiz thinking odds are good he's getting ball four.

But, there are certain players that I just don't like. And that fat tub of dick skins is one of them. Sorry, not sorry.

That thinks brian mccann has acted like a jackass when he thinks a 'unwritten rule' has been violated and escalates the situation. Yep. sure am.

I don't even care about unwritten rules, this was messed up from a rulebook/mechanics standpoint.

How is it messed up? If the pitcher throws a strike, Papi has no chance to hit it. Throw strikes and the batter won't walk out of the box.

Is it wrong for a batter to square to bunt as the pitcher is releasing the ball?

Because you're halfway expecting a bunt.

When did he do this? I just google searched it, and he has never admitted anything. Manny said something, but it's not like Manny is unhinged or anything.

McCann stood up to a loudmouth once, and is one of thousands of baseball players to do this since baseball began, and all of a sudden he is the poster boy for such activity to mental midgets like you.

Dude was apparently having control problems/trying to get him to chase. If he wanted to walk him, he would have pitched out.

There really was no need for him to do it, other than to be an arrogant dick about it. But, that's the Red Sux for ya.

Not all intentional walks are done like that.

No, but 99% of them are. Leaving a pitch within hitting range isn't exactly the best way to walk someone.
