UCF is famously claiming a national championship for its undefeated 2017 season and Peach Bowl win over Auburn. If the Knights faced College Football Playoff champion Alabama on the field, however, they would be three-touchdown underdogs according to a pair of sports betting experts.

According to the “Bet the Board” podcast, Alabama would be a 21-point favorite in a hypothetical showdown with UCF.

and we all know 21 point favorites never lose right?

this is just people trying to distract from the fact that the committee fricked up and now we have Georgia SEC Champs but Bama somehow trumping them to be national champs even tho they werent the best in their own conference

Auburn was a 14 point favorite.

This is why it’s better to actually play the games instead of just speculating about how they would go down.

Btw Todd Fuhrman is a tout and certified clown in Vegas

Neither of those guys are currently oddsmakers. Fuhrman was a supervisor at one of Caesars books for a while. Don't let him suggest that he set odds - he only set the ticket writers' schedule.

Payne sells picks for $.99.

I loathe when people like these guys or RJ Bell refer to themselves as "Vegas" or "Experts".

Noone will ever be satisfied when a non conference champ backs into the playoffs after losing their last regular season game when they knew they HAD to win.

Idc which team or conference it is

All of this. "Sports betting experts" is an extremely generous term when it comes to those two.

If it’s 21, straight up, I’d take UCF. I’m sure it would be like 22 or 20 though.

Give me UCF and the 21 points. I think Bama would win based on more depth, but this would be a MUCH closer game than many think.

There have been many a team that finished the year as Vegas favorites and no hardware.

You can't really compare a meaningless bowl game to a championship game.

What was the line when y'all played Utah in the Sugar Bowl?

I'm not a Bama fan. I was just pointing out that 2017 has co-champions.

I’d take UCF to beat the spread, and whatever the combined points is, I’d take the over. UCF likely loses by 2 scores, but it’d be a shootout. That offense would give Bama fits like they did Auburn.

2nd half Bama (aka good Tua) wins by 20+.
1st half Bama (aka bad Jalen) struggles and wins by 7.
