Wilt’s averaged dropped to around 22ppg once the lane was widened to the modern size. He’d have still been great but not like he was when he could just stand under the basket.

Uh, no, it didn't.
He averaged just under 35, then 33, then 24, 24, 20 and a half, and then 27 at the age of 33 before tailing off because of age-- but all in seasons with the widened lane.

Michael Jordan won 7 consecutive scoring titles from 1987-1993 and had a total of 10 scoring titles in his career (the most all time). I’d say it’s him.

This thread shows people seem to have very different definitions of what a "scorer" is and I'm still not sure what their own definition actually is.
Example, Lebron never comes up in these discussions while Kobe always does. Lebron averaged more points for his career than Kobe by a pretty wide margin and also is more efficient with a better TS% also by a wide margin. So why exactly is Kobe a better scorer than Lebron?
People will say the ability to go off for 50, 60...81. But does consistency not count for some reason in this discussion?

Nobody has a problem calling Durant damn near the best scorer of all time and he’s got 8 50 points games and 0 60 point games

It's not the performance on the court as much as the difference in persona on and off the court

So many elite ones. Not all needed rings to justify their scoring ability. Being a great scorer doesn’t mean you’re an mvp necessarily.
