What is this time frame over?

Also how was the ratio calculated?

What year is this from? I’m a little surprised Clemson only had 18 Top 247 players. That just seems low.

Should Texas even qualify if only 10% of their ranked people get drafted?

How is Clemson not no.1 with 61% getting drafted? Isn’t this about development?

Trying to understand that myself. Maybe it's weighted by how highly rated you were in the 247 rankings (#1 vs. #100) and where you were drafted in the NFL (1st round vs. 7th round)?

A&M had both fewer top 247 players and a lower percentage drafted than Notre Dame and was one spot above ND - made no sense to me, either.

This makes no sense. Florida St has 36 Top247 with 50% of them drafted yet they're ranked lower than Ole Miss who had 18 Top247 with 44% drafted.

Or how about UGA with 33 at 39% behind A&M who has 20 at 35%.

OSU and LSU have almost identical numbers but OSU is a 1.05 and LSU is a 0.89.

All of this is just very weird.

I don't understand how Florida is #1. Either it's Bama due to sheer volume, 12 more drafted than Florida, or it's Clemson due to higher percentage drafted than anyone else. Interested in what kind of jacked up math they did to make Florida #1.

Would like to see a bust percentage or scoring on these, Ole Miss has cranked out a shite ton of draft picks lately but I feel like we also have a lot of NFL busts

This may also be an indicator of overrated recruiting classes...

Wouldn’t it be more pertinent to show those that weren’t top247 players

It's the 2010-2014 classes so that includes Urban's legendary 2010 class + Muschamp's top 3-5 classes.

Here is the link to the article

LINK

quote:

To fairly access a successful development, 247Sports created a “Development Rating.” It's a measure that takes into account the total number of Top247 prospects a program had along with where/if those players were drafted (3 points for 1st rounders, 2 points for 2nd-3rd, 1 for 4th-7th), dividing the total number of prospects by the point total to create the rating. This removes any advantage created by a program’s ability to recruit an overwhelming number of Top247 players. It also rewards programs that produce more first- and second-day picks. The NFL often will draft late-round fliers on talent alone – think Kahlil McKenzie in the sixth round last year.

To more accurately represent how a program develops players, 247Sports removed four categories of prospects from the data: 1. Players who were dismissed. 2. Players who didn’t qualify. 3. Players who medically retired. 4. Players who transferred after two or fewer seasons on campus. If a player stayed three years and transferred, they count against a team’s 'not drafted' tab. If a player transferred and was drafted elsewhere, they count for the team to which they transferred.
