I should have emailed the thread to someone else to start and people wouldn’t have just taken a giant dump on it
Or maybe, just maybe, you could have left out the athlete’s race, as if that has anything to do with anything. And then insinuating that most of America, like me, were more interested in watching tiger because of the color of his skin, as opposed to the fact that he was just really god damn good at golf. So I’m going to hold you to account for being the racist.

its actually pretty shitty to not acknowledge that there are different races who may have different views and experiences
I tend to view people as individuals, not as part of a group who all have the same thoughts, opinions, beliefs, etc because of the color of their skin.

I said his race was part of the story? You know why? Because him dominating a sport that was historically extremely white is compelling. It also opens up kids who never thought golf was a possibility for them to beleive. Same with the Williams sisters. Being black and coming from Compton and then dominating tennis is a very compelling and positive story
You are the one taking race and making it some fearful boogie man in here, not me

I mean, he’s not entirely wrong.
He was saying the media, not the populace, will run with the story partially due to race.

You are the one who mentioned race. Not me. So I don’t know how you can say I made it about race.

This thread has turned into such a shitshow. I am excited about an awesome young player that I think will revitalize American male tennis, and it just turns into crap
Besides, I'm not dumping on it. I just find it silly to call someone who is OBVIOUSLY mostly white, "black". I know that's the norm but it's still silly.

It’s incredibly insulting and racist to infer that people watched tiger because of his race. In my opinion people watched tiger because he was the greatest golfer in a generation, maybe of all time. Those who bring race into it are racist. Prove me wrong.

I watched Tiger because he was the best golfer. You watched Tiger because he was the best golfer, and mixed race?

I mean I don’t know exactly what is funny? He turned out to be a very big and physical freak athlete. If he stuck with football he was easily playing college

This guy is a freak athlete. Not all that surprising to me that when he decided to go all in, his rise was pretty fast.

Anotger thread in which LSUvax87 has no idea what "elite" means

What could be more racist than the inability to be inspired or admire another unless they are the same color you are. Why do you think these young kids are so racist? Do they learn it at home?

You mean besides you fawning over a 12 year old’s quarterbacking play bd guaranteeing he would be a D1 football player? Oh nothing I guess.
Your typical foolishness side, Ben is an awesome guy and I hope he lives up to the hype. And in addition to his own abilities, his gf is one of the best track athletes on the world too
