There are exceptions but generally speaking American sports have boring and sterile corporate atmospheres. It’s even creeping into college which is even more depressing.

that's because the marketing is successful and rich people want to go.

European atmospheres are what they are because there aren't rich people to go and demand better seating, better security, better food and drink

I admit this post is 30% troll, 10% me not being able to post on the soccer board at the minute but come on does that not look like a lot more fun? Even LSU games aren’t what they used to be.

If you’re a skinhead or part of a terrorist cell it looks like more fun.

That clip is a face tat wearing leather in video form. It’s disgusting. I will take our safe corporate atmospheres with the best basketball players in the world playing in it all day

Exactly.

And it's because the product is pure shite

Y'all wanna impress DC and go lose our minds and shoot flares at a girls' volleyball game? It'll be so cool.

Disagree. We just aren't fricking banshees all the goddamn time. Thank God

Do you really want the likea of what happens at Raiders games in to be par for the course? That's silly.

What I always wonder is if the Euro fans are there for the game or the singalong. It's a raucous atmosphere, for sure, but it doesn't really seem to have any relation to the actual game.

The best sporting events I've been to are where the excitement comes organically from the game itself. When you're packing road flares in, it doesn't seem like that.

No. They’re 15 feet.

But seriously, an argument can be made that Euroleague ball is better basketball than the NBA, but the NBA has better individual players.

Many of the plays you see being run in the NBA came from European ball. For example, the “Spain pick and roll” that’s all the rage in the NBA over the past couple years was being done in Europe a decade ago.

The entire style of basketball being played today in the NBA is more similar to the Euro style than it is to the NBA of the past.
