After Barbe not making it to Sulphur last year, you have to expect a revenge tour this year. They’ll be driven to roll all year. The best program in the state doesn’t have back to back years that doesn’t end in the state tournament. You knew that they were going to dominate this year. The kids didn’t make the schedule, all they can do is play who is in front of them.

Pretty sure he's got a touch of Tourette's. He's definitely got a tick. From what I understand though, he's a pretty good guy.

He must have the same thing ML Woodruff has that makes you have a tick and win state championships.

11-1. One loss came to Benton where WM threw 6 pitchers I believe while facing a LH Tech commit throwing 92-93. It was 2-2 in the 7th and the wheels came off with Benton scoring 5 I believe all unearned. Final 7-2. The top 3 guys have given up not much if anything so far. Due to the playoffs being 2/3 until the last 2 rounds, WM played 11 games in 13 days. So it’s hard to get a gauge on how that translates to a playoff format when you’re obviously not going to approach pitching the same way. Lot of talent up and down the lineup. 2 LSU, 1 Ole Miss, 1 Tech commit as well as some JUCO commits. Cool thing is those big 4 will all return. REALLY young team honestly.

So they’ve done pretty good then. Looking forward to seeing them against St. Amant on Friday.

The talent y’all have is pretty impressive and like you said young. Still have another season of those guys. Feel like WM is about to take off as a baseball program though, even after these current guys graduate. Just seems like there has been more of an emphasis put onto baseball up there lately. Besides John, who’s the other LSU commit y’all have?

Bradyn Garner, freshman pitcher that throws 90-91 from the left side. Great all around player. He's actually been the DH most games as well.

The current state champs and the finalist the year before

The only thing they haven’t done yet is take over for Barbe for more than a year

South Terrebonne is because they’ve gotten play-up points

Better put some respect on that. Won the state title with no home field or school and they are rolling again this season

Well it shouldn’t have taken West Monroe 24 years to win a state title IMO. I know they’ve been to the title game and lost several times in that span. They have all the resources and talent to be on a similar level that Barbe is on. Just seems like they’re finally more committed to baseball in West Monroe. I could see WM becoming a program similar to Barbes. They have a chance to try and pursue a 3 peat with the players they currently have. Extremely tough to do though especially in 5A. Barbe and St. Amant the only 5A schools who have done that.

If this is what Barbe is doing, hand them the trophy now. We’re all playing for second place

How they didn’t win it all when they had Justin Hill, Brian West and co I will never know. Those WM teams were very talented.

They had a home field. It just wasn't theirs.

Agree. Barbe has to be the big favorite this year after not making state tournament last year.

They were working pitchers by streetlight in a coaches backyard. That's because they didn't get out of school until 6-6:30 because they had to use HLB since their school was destroyed.

They won the 1999 state tournament in new Iberia, I was there. I remember getting behind a scout with a radar gun when West was pitching

You’re right. Barbe had Austin Nagle on that team I believe.

For some reason (old age, maybe drugs) I was incorrectly thinking they lost to Brother Martin. But that was the 96 team that beat WM 1-0 in the finals. David Miller pitched a gem.
