Tonight is another proven point of why the NBA is a complete fricking dumpster fire. Absolutely terrible product.

After Luka scored 73 points a couple of seasons ago, I knew it was inevitable for someone to hit Kobe's record. But man, this was the most anticlimactic way possible to do so.

To be fair, from what I've heard, Wilt's 100 point game wasn't very legit either. I think it went a bit similar to this game. Where Wilt's teammates force fed him the ball and committed multiple intentional fouls in order to get him more possessions.

They were intentionally fouling so Bam could get the ball back.

Modern NBA lol

The last 1:30 of that game was an utter disgrace to the game.

Seriously shouldn’t count it was such a disgrace

I agree with you

How will commish fix this? Can he suspend any player involved in intentional fouls and giving up on plays to allow/help him get record for the rest of year plus fine both teams? And declare game as a forfeit?

Thats about the only way to keep it from record books.

And do refs have authority to stop game and call league office for advice seeing both teams intentionally breaking ethics and sportsmanship rules?

Instead, he will do nothing but profit from all the buzz it created. That's my guess.

You have to admit, most fouls on Bam were legit

Don’t follow much NBA do you? The commish admitted last year that they’re intentionally pumping stats because that’s the only way to keep fans interested in the game in his opinion. He’s an idiot and NBA front offices are circus ringmasters at best. All 3 major U.S. sports commissioners are fricktards but Nosferatu is the worse of em all.

83 points is fricking nuts no matter who it’s against. Especially for Bam who nobody thinks of as an elite level scorer.

If he had shot a decent game we would have gotten 100. Lotta points left on the board with subpar shooting.

It’s one game, y’all are overreacting.

Kobe’s 81 wasn’t ethical either and Philly was doing everything they could to get Wilt to 100. Relax.

When baseball games get out of hand we see dumb stuff like this all the time.

That intentional missed free throw and last foul call are atrocious. Puts a huge caveat on this ‘record’ to me.

Did Bam just go out and play 90s style of basketball? If you’re the slightest bit physical on offense (like actually physical), the other team’s defense is going to get called for fouls with today’s rules.

That’s been the argument all along, right? Jordan playing with today’s rules would score 80 every game because the defensive rules wouldn’t be able to handle him.

Edit - just watched the highlights of the foul calls. Holy shite those guys were bad. It’s atrocious that people get paid millions to be that bad and lax playing basketball.
