bad thread or the worst thread?

nothing worse than an angry Louisianan showing envy of a real city and then the thread spiraling into racist commentary

ETA Falcons > Saints

Atlanta sucks because it's so big. I've been to New Orleans twice. I thought it looked very dirty.

Dude, I don't think anyone is going to go to a final four and say, "gee, I wish I could go saltwater fishing."

I like how in your argument on why New Orleans is so much better you added fishing twice. Paint drying is another option. You are getting a lot of college kids in town and they are going to travel that far to fish? New Orleans has drinking which is what most college fans look for who make these trips. You will have a group who want the fine dining and touristy things. It's obvious as a Saints fan you hate Atlanta but the place is not that bad. And to be honest the Super dome is an eye sore (all domes are). I think all cities with domes should build new state of the art facilities.

Dude, you're so far off base. I love NOLA and it is possibly the BEST city for hosting events, but to question Atlanta as a desirable host city is quite ignorant on your part. I agree the sports venues aren't located in great parts of town, but in town neighborhoods such as midtown, buckhead, and virginia highlands are all 5-15 minutes from these venues and they offer plenty of fun things to do in safe areas. ATL isn't condensed into a small walkable city, but there are clusters in town that are, and they are just a short drive from the dome.

Hate on, but ATL is a decent spot when it comes to hosting large events.

atlanta blows (i've lived here at least part-time for the past 12+ years) AND New Orleans is my favorite US city....

that said, it's a freaking basketball tourney. I think people will find something to do, have fun and maybe even make it out alive.

+Oakhurst-Decatur/Kirkwood, EAV, L5P, Reynolds/Cabbagetown, Grant Park, Old Fourth Ward, Castleberry Hill.

Most people who'd be invading New Orleans for a Final Four would be going to shitty places there anyway, so I really don't get the biggie.

Atlanta is a perfectly fine spot for a final 4.
