Atlanta clears another major financial hurdle for securing a new NHL team

This involves the location at South Forsyth where they secured financing for an NHL team and that construction is set to begin soon.
Big takeaway here is that Forsyth County would not approve construction of an arena without NHL approval so it seems that it's just a matter of time

if you knew anything about why the previous times failed you'd realize they have nothing to do with this go around.
Lack of a supportive fanbase wasn't even close to why the thrashers failed. Look up atlanta spirit group and go from there. They were a vile, despicable organization that thankfully will not be around this time.
people were concerned when the braves moved away from downtown(ish) to OTP but that sure has worked out well for all parties.

Who owns the trademark for the Thrashers name and logos?
I'd love to work a deal with Calgary to get the Flames name back, but I know that's not happening.
Does the team stay the Atlanta whatever or does ownership take a page from the Cardinals and the Mammoth and use Georgia?

Pretty sure when expansion comes it'll come to two cities likely being Atlanta and Houston

I don't think they would move another one to Canada. The remaining markets are not large at all. Be like putting an NHL team in Montgomery, AL. The only way I could see it would be if they do a second Toronto team and maybe put it in Mississauga.
