I honestly get the feeling we’re done.

The Mets have to be paying something down. That's the only way the return was so strong.

What? If the Astros are paying all of JV’s contract, that’s an amazing trade for the Mets.

I meant to respond to the guy saying that Eppler is a Braves Plant

What about Michael Lorenzen?
Is possibly going to Philadelphia per JP Morosi

Tigers are close to trading Michael Lorenzen to the Phillies. Infield prospect Hao-Yu Lee is part of the proposed return heading to Detroit.

With Lorenzen gone I’m not sure who they may go after. I’d expect the Dodgers to go all in on Cease.
Bullpen help is pretty limited at this point. Hopefully AA will pull something out of his arse at the last minute for some help.

There’s no way we walk away from this deadline with only Brad Hand
Posted on 8/1/23 at 2:41 pm to Broski
Brad Hand essentially replaces Hearn. That's a step up in my book.

Do you REALLY think that?
Posted on 8/1/23 at 2:50 pm to Broski
I hope you are right but I am not anywhere near as confident as you are that they are not done.
Posted on 8/1/23 at 2:51 pm to 21zereaux
Does the deadline end at 6 eastern or central?

The New York #Mets are sending the #Astros about $54 million in the Justin Verlander trade, one executive said, if Verlander's $35 million option in 2025 becomes vested.
Verlander is owed about $93 million, meaning the #Astros would pay Verlander about $29 million for 2 1/3 years

Steve Cohen for a guy that collected so much money. Sure sucks at money management in baseball.

If we do the Braves PR Intern will be here within a minute of the deadline closing telling us to "trust AA"

I value Tavarez more than Alvarez. Better hit tool.
Better hit tool? What?
Tavarez is hitting .198/.300/.345 in Low A with a 43(!!!!)% strikeout rate. Every report I’ve seen this year says he is totally overmatched.
Alvarez is slashing .290/.408/.414 in High A with almost as many walks as strikeouts. Easily the best hitter in the system if you don’t include Grissom.

One is underachieving the other is overachieving.
Tacarez has much more pop and you’re insane if you’re giving up on a 19 year ild because of a bad first full pro season

Holy shite!
Never change, Mets.
This is why they will always be a poverty franchise no matter how big their payroll is. Frank The Tank might gorge himself to death.
