You’re correct lookin at career stats outside of one 4.2 war season he’s been hovering around 0

Harris is fine, but you’re all over the board place. Video games or the game thread. You can’t do both.

No he’s fine. He was tracking that triple in the gap and I was hoping he’d let it hit instead of crashing into the wall.

Saw another board discussing an expansion draft possibility in the next 2-3 years. If the rules were the same as the 97 expansion draft we would be allowed to protect 15 guys and we wouldn’t have to protect anyone drafted in 2021 or 2022 if they haven’t made their major league debut or any HS guys drafted in 2020. All the international signees since our ban ended would be exempt too.

Obviously a lot will change between now and whenever expansion actually happens but If the draft were this off-season I think you protect

Acuña
Albies
Riley
Olson
Murphy
d’Arnaud
Arcia
Harris
Fried
Strider
Wright
Soroka
Elder
Grissom
Shuster

Minter, Matzek, Iglesias, Ozuna on the bubble.

Minter and Matzek because it’s hard to justify protecting a non-closer reliever without much control and I think you can also dare teams to take Ozuna or Iglesias’s salary.

Look this has nothing to do with Ozuna off field and he’s been good since he turned around his shite sandwich of a start but we need that money. I wish we could get value in a trade now that DH is universal it’s possible idk.

Didn’t we just extend Darnnaud? Someone who legitimately cannot play defense is almost unacceptable and we really can’t DH our C not playing C Murphy is just better than Ozuna and Travis is FAR more consistent even if not as much power

Ozzie to the 10-day IL. No corresponding move yet, but gotta imagine it will be Grissom

Like what? What am I wrong about other than you fearing our DH getting injured if they both play. And my scenario comes with dropping Ozuna insane a salary, a roster spot who literally cannot be put on defense, and if done soon enough maybe retain Fried

Are you saying Sean isn’t a better offensive bat than Ozuna? Or that Travis isn’t quite as powerful but much more consistent and hits for better avg?

I don’t think Ozuna is bad he’s pretty good but we could use that money and have not only possibly the best catcher in BB but a top 15 one as well whose known for his offense not defense who we extended. Use that

Would having them both play every single day be good? No. But we could do it a lot, and save major caesh

Both have been here 4 years

Ozuna war 1.9
Travis War 4.5

Two of Ozunaa have had a negative Owar while Travis hasn’t had any with one below 0. Ozuna def walks more and strikes out less though. Travis has played much less but runs created at 56 in his full 2.9 war season is right there Ozunas Braves best of 58. Idk I just don’t see how it’s at all unreasonable to just pose the thought as you made it out

So I mean don’t you think with how much he makes it’s at least asking about?

Hammys can be tricky.

They handled Murphy beautifully w/his. Hopefully this will be the same for Ozzie. Rather get him rest now and be ready for the stretch run/playoffs.

Yeah he had a stretch where I was almost like full on NEVER SWIRCH HIT AGAIN NDJCJEJDIDJEHEU and I admit was completely wrong about him being not suited for two hole as a hitter it was when he moved there he exploded

I’m not projecting anything? I posited a possible idea and why it could be good for many reasons. You said “there’s a lot to unpack” so I unpacked it for you.

And just quoting my suggestion with what you said comes off how it does and you know how that is so doing a motte and Bailey debate tactic now is kinda.. cowardly

I said there was lot going on because it was a big arse run-on sentence rife with misspellings and punctuation issues.

Read like a hostage note.

Sorry I have a habit of speed typing on my iPhone and don’t bother always using proper punctuation or correcting words I just go on and you know damn well that you understood every word or what I meant lol. Idk why you can’t just engage with the idea instead of motte and Bailey and then goal post shifting

1) We free up cap space and use one of our better players who isn’t used enough who I laid out in much detail above is at worse = to Ozuna
2) Maybe can keep Fried if we can parlay his solid bounce back performance in a trade

By all means downvote away it could be a terrible idea but instead of hiding convince me why and I’ll totally agree with you

And ya I know he’s this years club house vet leader but I mean one of our core long term guys has to take that mantle and when Freddy left it didn’t seem we lacked it. Idk these guys personalities at all but from what I’ve seen from Murphy and Olson it could be them

Shuster shouldn’t even be on the bubble. Give me Ozuna all day, every day, bad contract and all. Even when he’s not producing for himself, he’s an A+ teammate.
