That's great. I guess Harris is only 21, so it makes sense he'd never have had champagne.

Check out this doozy from the Mets Reddit page:

Braves won 88 games last year. Faced the dodgers with an injured Scherzer and injured Kershaw. Faced the Astros with an injured Verlander. Fakest fricking champions

Melt.

Wow, now that is some ignorant butthurt... Verlander never pitched a game for them last year. Soroka didn't pitch a game for us, either. Do we not get to count our All-Star pitcher being out, as well? Acuna missed the entire second half. That doesn't count? Scherzer wasn't injured, he was fatigued. That's what happens when you ride a late 30's pitcher like he's 25. You get burned. Kershaw is always hurt. We didn't have Jorge Soler's hot bat for that series because of covid nonsense.

Meanwhile, did anyone beat these teams with their ouchies? No? You mean, the Braves were the only team that managed to do it, Mets fans?

Melt, indeed.

Anyway, Braves did it! Everyone in the media talks about the 10.5 game deficit, but how about being 6.5 games back (7 in the loss column) after August 7th? There was a lot less time to make up that significant deficit, and it would have been easy to mentally fold after that series in New York, especially knowing the Mets were about to embark on the "easiest" part of their schedule.

This team came back twice. It's been some sluggish hitting the last two days, but we're division champs! Now comes the really fun part. Lookin' forward to it.

The '93 and '98 Braves were the two best of the 90's and didn't even make it out of the NLDS.So frustrating watching the Braves in the playoffs back then.

The '96 team was the best of the bunch.

Tightest finish with that many wins by both teams that I can remember.

Last night Harold Reynolds listed his top 5 rookies across both leagues. He had Harris II at 4 behind Rutschman and Rodriguez, but had Strider at #1.

Not in terms of wins or ERA compared to '93 and '98.

You could make an argument for '93 over '96 but the '98 numbers were pretty sick especially starting pitching...one of the best in MLB history. '98 Braves

Production wise Harris has been better than Julio but Julio's peak is like superstar level so I feel like people ignore the obvious numbers favoring MH2 for Julio's flair.

But tbh these lists are just opinion/how you look at the game... are pitchers devalued a bit because they go once every 5 days? Should Adley be ranked first because of positional value he gives at catcher? Did the writer intentionally make the list controversial to generate clicks/views?
