But yea, they could have traded for a starter like a Lester or Happ. But those types are not moving the needle. They are placeholder types that might help you go but most likely aren’t going to get you very far. Not to mention that SP was not the biggest hole at the deadline.
We realistically were not going to make any big moves this year after Ozuna, Acuna, and striking out on Smyly.
Actually pretty happy with our trade deadline for a change. Although I get angry with AA every night because now I’m reminded we should have had Duvall all year

This team has been in more one run games this year than any team except NYM and they really aren’t doing well in them. No clutch hitting.

Thank God they’re doing away with the runner at second rule. This team can’t get the free runner home to save their lives.

Idgaf what numbers show. BUNT THE MOTHER frickER TO THIRD. Don’t care who it is. You’re down in extras with the playoffs on the line. Get the man over and anything out of the infield gets them in.

All the "clutchness" the team had from 18-20 apparently didn't carry over to this season.

Manfred’s state of the league or whatever it’s called at the ASG. Said very unlikely free runner/7 inning doubleheaders remain.

Numbers say they have about an 8 in 10 chance of winning the division but they have an 11 game west coast road trip and 6 H2H against Phils/Mets left after tomorrow and aren’t playing very good baseball right now. Offense has been really bad since the 9 game winning streak. 83 wins could win this division.

Too bad I thought it was a good idea. It does speed things up and save for a very long game and the double header is good to have 7 innings due to long games and play 2 in a day. Time is for a change to make it work. I really do like it. Makes it better for pitchers to get more rest.
