Oof

But yeah, Will Smith doesn’t even want the ball in the 9th anymore. You can see it. Why Snit insists on it is beyond me unless there’s just nobody in the pen with big enough balls for the gig.

Could you imagine paying a guy $15MM to be your stud closer, only to have him be the setup guy?

frick that. I think the 8th is too high leverage for his tiny nutsack. But it’s a sunk cost at this point. Just because you are paying him like a closer doesn’t mean you have to use him like one if he can’t handle it. That’s just cutting off your nose to spite your face.

He should be facing lefties in the 6th and 7th only at this point. Who cares what you’re paying him? A horrendous signing from the get go and not cutting their losses when it comes to his usage is making it worse every passing day.

3 straight extra innings where we can't even move the runner to third, dating back to the Rockies loss.

Pitiful.

I'm not advocating for him to remain as the closer at all. In fact, I hope he never puts the uniform back on. I was merely pointing out the awful signing and predicament they no doubt face internally regarding said signing

I didn’t think you actually were. No real Braves fan could.

The pitch selection all year has been abhorrent. The sequences to Solano and Gausman were both hilariously awful.

How do you throw 5 straight down and in sliders to Solano?

How do you get to 3-2 against Gausman?

Insane regular season the GMen are having. Gabe hitting all the right buttons.Gausman delivers.

Braves and Harper keeping the Phils within range.

Will Smith aside, I'm sick of this organization trotting out Newcomb and Webb every year and expecting it to be any different.

I can't stand the participation trophy artificially inserted 2nd Base Runner BS for Extras..

It should be at 1st Base at most..if at all.

Feels like College Football 25 Yard Line for Professionals.

Webb is a nice 6th-7th arm for any pen imo. He has looked a lot better since he came back from Maroth and Gwinnett and was very solid in the past outside of the stint he had early this season.

The most important thing this organization can do imo is dump Kranitz. An inexplicable hire at the time that has proven to be fricking atrocious. Nobody has a worse track record with young arms in the sport. And almost every time guys go to Gwinnett they are much better when they return until Kranny gets a hold of them.
