He’s reluctantly softened his stance a little on analytics as the Braves FO has outwardly embraced and credited them, but about 4-5 years ago Mike Trout went on the DL and it led to an all time “WAR, what is it good for” rant. Chip wondered allowed how WAR could make any sense at all “if the player being replaced is Mike Trout”

Like I said I don't disagree w/you or Volfan's criticisms, they're valid, but to hate the guy is a little strong. You can dislike the way he goes about his job, we all do, but hate is a little too strong of a description IMO.
And Boog or Ben Ingram please.

Joe has never been the biggest analytics fan either FWIW.

My favorite Chip moment is a couple years ago when Frenchy kept spilling his drink and he asked him if needed a sippy cup. I still chuckle when I think about it.

Chip rules and would kick all of your asses.

I really like Ben and Joe on the radio

No, but he doesn’t have a partner who is constantly setting him up to shite on the state of the current game, either.
The game and some of the advancements that have been made aren’t for everybody, but every team, including the Braves is heavily invested in most of the changes. I’m not interested in hearing announcers shove down my throat how bad the product I am investing my summer nights in is night after night.

Dana Brown expected to be named Astros GM
What can y’all tell Astros fans about him?
Of the 3 candidates that were leaked, Dana was easily the most enticing from an outsiders perspective as the other 2 had failed pretty bad at GM prior in their careers.

We actually litigated his drafts pretty extensively last week. Can’t say much about him in the IFA market as Braves were banned from the market for the majority of his tenure.
In drafts the Braves have rarely gone after BPA in first rounds. They’ve been really good at identifying high ceiling guys and projecting what they can improve to make guys better.
I think he is very very good.

During this past season, they were playing the Phillies and Chip opened the broadcast by nonchalantly introducing Frenchy as "Phillies legend Jeff Francoeur." It was subtle and it was really funny.

Tom Hart and Ben Ingram are among those who could replace Chip Caray. Former Marlins broadcaster Rich Waltz has ties to some Bally Sports South execs. But Bally’s financial woes could influence the decision
Tom Hart would be good, as would Ingram.

Absolutely not. This guy is worse than Chip.

Maybe they can charge $25 a month for their app then.

frick Sinclair. I wish them nothing but misfortune until they have to sell the RSNs.

Heard a stat earlier that a Caray has been part of the Braves broadcast team every year since 1976.
Damn.
Damn.

They won't for a while, they are bankrolled by like a bunch of rich white alt-right old dudes who are a bunch of good old baws that like to own things just to say they own things.
Of all the media conglomerates (Gray, Nexstar, Hearst, Tegna, etc.), Sinclair is the most backwards of the bunch.

They are on the verge of declaring bankruptcy and having to sell off their assets.
Word is that Apple and Amazon are the most likely candidates to acquire all of Sinclair's assets.

They were on the verge of bankruptcy when they initially got the RSN's.
