Replacing gold glove SS with a guy who played below average defense at 2B may not be conducive to winning. Time will tell.

So I guess the only thing the Braves can do to satisfy some of you is have a gold glove and silver slugger at every position. Oh, and keep 200 million set aside for Fried and then another 50 for an All Star Closer.

Some of you are just ridiculous with your criticisms. No team has all that. The Dodgers just let the best SS in the game walk away. So are they not trying to win a year after they signed Freddie till he’s 40? The Yankees signed a player they already had and won nothing with. Did they improve? I guess the World Series Champs aren’t interested in winning now that they let old man Verlander walk. Come on, no team is better situated than the Braves. Not one.

Agreed.

But if Wash is confident that he can turn Vaughn into a competent SS, I'll take him at his word. He just doesn't throw out platitudes for the hell of it.

We are all gonna have to be patient b/c there will be growing pains early.

Thats a laughable argument considering Dansby would have taken less to play here, by our own GM's admission by the way, and Trea Turner just wanted to be on the east coast. So unless you're proposing the Dodgers move back to Brooklyn so they could keep Turner, that argument really makes no sense.

We won the WS with a core of talented players and let two of them in their prime who wanted to be here walk. Whether that was the right decision or not is TBD but theres no way you can spin it where thats a good look, it makes us look like second class citizens in terms of doing everything you can to win a championship (which in a pocket book sense we are, IMO)

Chip Caray is leaving the #Braves TV broadcast booth for a similar position with the Cardinals, sources have told The Athletic. Caray, son of the late Braves broadcaster Skip Caray, was raised in St. Louis and is the grandson of legendary former Cardinals broadcaster Harry Caray.

Chip's best call in his 17 year tenure as the voice... and it's not even remotely close.

Eh I'm not the biggest Chip guy but the undue hate that he has received is a little much IMO.

He’s good on big home run calls. That’s it for me. As far as small talk and all that goes along with carrying on a conversation for 3 hours a night, 6 nights a week, 6 months a year there are very few announcers in sports I wouldn’t pick over him.

I have watched about 95% of the TV broadcasts on mute over the past 4-5 years because I find him that bad.

His old man yells at a cloud schtick really brings everyone else down, too.

Francoeur is much better on national games and Joe Simpson was borderline unlistenable paired with Chip every day and has become pretty good again on the radio.

It wasn't undue. He did a poor job of painting the picture when calling a baseball game.

There's a reason this will be his third team as the voice, with all three of them having a Caray connection before him. There's also a reason TBS pulled him off the postseason after just one year.

He's not good.
