1a. re-sign Dansby

Agreed.

1b. deGrom

Not big on signing an oft-injured pitcher who'll be 36 next June.

2. Correa - put him at 3rd and move Riley to LF

quote:

3. Package Ozuna in with some pitching and get out of the contract - assuming Wright and Stridor are untouchable (I know most of you will include Fried, but this is my wish list and I'm not sold on a long term deal for him)

Are you actually suggesting moving Fried? B/c if so then that's gonna be a no for me dawg.

This is why Atlanta can never have nice things most of the time. The fans here don't know how to embrace superstars.

That is an overly broad statement IMO.

To be fair, Acuna can be a baby at times.

So are a lot of transcendent players in their early 20s.

Acuna can be a bitch sometimes but he plays with so much emotion. It’ll take a while for me to not think Strider is a bitch after the BABIP comments he made, bring on the downvotes. If the Phillies win the series that nuke he gave up is going to be replayed forever, I wonder if he had to Check the numbers on that one?

We need an ace. And other than deGrom I don’t know where that would come from.

Strider will be that guy

I think so too. Just worried that a guy barely pushing 6’ can keep throwing 99 without his arm falling off.

He generates most of his power from his lower body and he's already had Tommy John. He doesn't look like he's going balls out on every pitch. I'm not as worried about that with him.

All very valid points. It was just a little concerning seeing his velocity drop so quickly after 2 innings the other day. I know he hadn’t thrown much. But wearing down over so many innings/years is a legitimate concern.

He was well beyond his career high in innings and hadn't pitched in a game in over three weeks. I'm not concerned about that long term.

Here's the payroll situation if the OP wants to use it.

Not a lot of flexibility outside of whatever we do at SS. I wouldn't be surprised if we do some backloading this offseason if we play in the FA market. Some money committed in 2023 that isn't what I would call efficient use of funds.

Good news is next offseason we have zero significant FAs and we are going to have A LOT of money available. Possibly close to $75M if Morton retires/isn't back.

Here’s a hot take. Y’all are an extremely streaky team and came down on the wrong side of your streakiness this year.

I qualify my take by adding that I have no problem with the Braves whatsoever.

I guess staring horribly, and then finishing with the best record from June first to the end of the regular season qualifies as streaky, if you want to look at it that way. I think of streaky as being back and forth. There's always a little back and forth in this game, but the Braves were pretty consistent once they started winning.

We have some streaky individual players, but the depth of the lineup usually made up for that. We had too many go cold at the worst possible time. Riley was cold for the last two and a half months, frankly.

First MLB team in 20 years not to be swept in a single series over 162 games. Only lost 3 in a row twice all year. Never lost 4 in a row. I wouldn’t call that streaky.

They should trade Acuña

Poor effort and too emotional. Also not a very smart player

Fellow Braves fans, bring your pitchforks

Not this dumb shite again.

Who replaces Acuna IYO?

Like sorantable said above, so are most transcendent players in their early 20's. You're the type who would be bitching if he were too robotic and just spoke in clichés all the time.

Some guys get the bag and are never the same player. Hope that isn't the case here. I get it though, no matter how he plays he never has to worry about money again.
