At what point do American sports leagues do away with the Nat’l Anthem all together?

IMO sports leagues in next few years will decide it’s becoming more trouble than it’s worth and taking away from their product on the field/court/ice.
They’ll cite sporting events in Europe with no anthem and perhaps replace for moment of personal reflection. Or no replacement.
Anything that affects their bottom line will be addressed

This was never an issue in college football because the players are in the lockerooms.

Won't happen in NHL or MLB
But i could see NBA doing it, and NFL for many years, never had the players on during the anthem, they went back in, anthem played and they got ready to come back out after last minute coaching and taping.

It’s already going to be a glorious melt over just how many players kneel this time around. I expect full teams to do it.

Save it for big events. Playoffs, championships, etc. don’t need the national anthem on a Wednesday night in Sacramento with Detroit visiting.

All will remove the Anthem before games and the NFL will do away with military appreciation

Just make the dumbass players wait in the locker room if they can't behave during the national anthem

this was how it always was in NFL, till networks wanted those shots of players with helmets off, some with hand over heart,etc

When they want to further alienate the majority of their fan base.
On the flip side, the NFL would be accused of taking away the ability to kneel during it so it’ll prob never go away.

This. We’re gonna keep it, players will stand or kneel as they please, and you’ll like it. We all should be taking little breaks in life every now and then to salute the nation that has made it all possible.

What if after they do away with the official singing of the national anthem, people in the stadium choose to sing it together before every game? Seems like a pretty peaceful way to protest something you’re against for whatever reason you so choose.

a league will let players take the brunt of the negative fallout but they will not endorse that.

Do it like the champions league in Europe...have an anthem for the sport that the players pay respect to.

It’s stupid to have it in the first place. Private sports organizations with players from
Multiple countries should not be playing the national anthem. It’s not the Olympics and has nothing to do with national pride.
