Actually, he has more self worth than you, because his self worth isn't tied into fake patriotism

On the flip side, the NFL would be accused of taking away the ability to kneel during it so it’ll prob never go away.

The Washington Spirit did that once because Rapinoe was on the visiting team.

Rap threw a huge hissy fit.

Never should have been integrated with national sports in the first place. That was the first mistake.

It’s phony arse patriotic monkey spanking.

I’m all for it at international games. It makes sense

shite is overplayed to death for every national sport though. Its time to go. .

If one of the teams... say Dallas... says they won't play the national anthem before the game, they'll be called racist for denying the player the opportunity to kneel in protest.

Agreed. It’s creepy, forced nationalism, just like making school children recite the pledge every morning.

I’m not sure why so many people dislike the national anthem at sporting events. I love it. Brings tears to my eyes.

The juice isn't worth the squeeze. Stop it this year.

Defuse the whole thing. Because this year there will be entire teams kneeling.

Do it like the champions league in Europe...have an anthem for the sport that the players pay respect to.

Almost no European league, to my knowledge but with so many I'm sure there may be one, plays their anthem pre-match.

I'm either way on whether it is played pre-game. It does create a momentary crescendo of hype before pre-game, but I wouldn't lose sleep over it not being played. I also didn't care that players took a knee, except for the USWNT.

While true, who here wants to end up like Europe? I know it seems like a minor deal (removing the National Anthem) but we've already removed the pledge from schools, etc. Removing all sense of Patriotism will have long-term implications on our country.

So yes it's a minor thing but all those minor things are adding up to the situation we are facing in this country today.
