The Astros got hammered in the media for stripping payroll down to the bone when they were rebuilding even though it was/is a pretty sound business decision

The only thing that really hurts them is the one year suspension of Luhnow. Hinch is a liability as a manager and four draft picks in baseball really don't mean much. They didn't even take away any of their international bonus pool money.

I would trade all of this to have a championship. Astros got off light, BIG TIME. Congrats on that baws. Well worth the price.

Cora about to get slammed

I doubt it. Manfred has already said his investigation really starts and stops with the Astros. The Red Sox are a national team, and Manfred has no interest in doing anything that hurts MLB’s bottom line, which is his only concern.

If this were the Yankees, Cubs or Red Sox (especially the Yankees), there is no way they’re losing their manager and GM for a year. Manfred can do this to the Astros because they don’t have a national following and it won’t hurt the overall business too much.

Don’t get me wrong: Hinch and Luhnow deserve everything they get. But the Astros aren’t the only team that cheated, and I just want to see other teams be penalized with a harshness that’s fits their crimes. That will not happen, especially where the Yankees and Red Sox are involved.

Hell yea I’m walking around NOLA fired up this is all they got. That’s a punishment that fits the crime and it’s over. Isn’t all that detrimental to the current organization and Cora should likely be perma-banned.

All hail the 2017 World Series Champs

Yes, flags fly forever. They weren’t cheating the night in LA they beat the shite out of Jansen and the night they beat the shite out of Darvish. Jon Daniels is just mad the Rangers didn’t think of it first.

They are investigating the Red Sox now. I think it’s a guarantee Cora gets at least a full season.

Not by a country mile, but don't expect the Cubs, the Yankees, or the Dodgers to even get a sniff from the Commissioner.

It is technically not a year-long suspension for Jeff Luhnow and AJ Hinch. Their suspensions begin today and conclude the day after the 2020 World Series ends.

It is still a massive suspension -- and considering Alex Cora's apparently culpability, his is bound to be far longer.

Damn, the victim status is not a good look. Cora is going to be out a year as well.
