I would imaging parents of the teenage students on the sideline care. In the end BOTH the coach and administrator has a right to decide
Since when do the parents opinions matter? So he should be fired because Boudreaux wanted Johnny to play more also?
Additionally, sideline passes don’t mean the boosters are in the team huddle for crying out loud. Often times there are celebrities with sideline passes that are in the corners of the field well away from the teams.

Liability and risk for being on the sideline at a HS football game? Lol. You must be related to the principal.
Sadly, yes that is a concern now. People will file lawsuits for anything. Best to protect yourself and show caution.
It’s why most high schools are very restrictive now about who can be on the sideline.

Most small private schools aren’t loaded with money. Football gate money usually fund almost every other sport.
Smaller private schools travel very well as compared to inner city New Orleans schools, which might bring 20 people to an away game if you are lucky.
Piss off the coaches of the small private schools/small rural public schools and they stop playing you. You are forced to schedule teams that don’t travel well.
School loses a solid amount of money
The team dresses out 28 to 30 people. This means that a lot of them play both ways. You can't stop playing the game just because you're winning. Maybe Louisiana should enact a mercy rule. Until such time as that happens these teams need to learn to play better. As far as people getting hurt, this is football if you're scared don't play take up chess or the debate team although I've heard some of those debates get pretty rowdy.
You still didn't address your statement about not wanting adults around the football players.

Tons of liability issues can come into play. Say a “booster” got drunk before going to the game and something happens on the sideline. Now the school has to answer why that person was there.
Not worth the risk and as a coach he should have respected that request
If this didn't happen you're just making up scenarios to support your position.

in a small 1A catholic high school? Well they always matter. They can and will cause lots of problems and headaches for the administration and faculty of the school when they don't get their way.

Do you know this to be true or are you still just making stuff up. When people have to fabricate scenarios to justify their actions it doesn't look good.

There’s tons of HS stadiums especially small schools where you basically walk through the sidelines to get to the stands. Tons of schools where you walk the track around the field to go to the bathrooms, parking, etc. This is the definition of being on the sideline.
The idea this was a safety issue or anything else is laughable. It was a power play by the admins, and they were outplayed.
If you want to say that’s fireable, I can’t disagree. But you can’t say it’s not incredibly petty and extremely detrimental to your ability to hire anyone else worth a darn.

All of the rumors against Drey in this thread have been public since way before the season, funny they come out after they get blown out in the championship....
I think a lot of questions will be answered with who the next coach hired is.

Yeah the other poster was inventing issues to justify his incredibly weak position. He would've been better off to just not make excuses.

Yes I officiated (and coached) HS football for 10 years and most places were quite restrictive. Granted, some were lax but most places were pretty strict about the area surrounding the field.
Also worked on administration at times and there were numerous scenarios you had to think about. Safest route was always to restrict access to students to a very select few. Will something happen? Probably not. But why risk it. I understand the concerns.
At ACHS home games they play at Donaldsonville High. Only staff:team/cheerleaders are allowed inside the fence surrounding the field. Been that way for 20+ years.

That’s not what the article said.
It said he withdrew the passes and the boosters got their passes through another venue.
Then when asked what other venue he admitted that he got them the passes.

I have no clue who the next coach will be, but if it’s a local person will be pretty easy to connect some dots.

Supposedly the 14 point contract thing is false. Was never a contract at all regarding that.

More than a little more than field passes. I have a cousin that coaches a football team in the same district. He said the admin don't want to ruin his career but it is definitely more than a 14 point contract and field passes. Said he could be burned at the stake but will likely land a bigger job if the truth doesn't get out.

They have no problem allowing parents to stand/sit on the baseline/stage feet from the court during basketball games. Bit of a double standard if you ask me.
