OK, I was thinking you meant the WM/Sterlington game. There wasn't much in that game on either side.

Bingo. We did and we played a team that clearly did not last Friday. Game went almost 4 hours because every play the other team cramped up. Now, some of ours did but the ratio was somewhere on the order of 1 of our players would cramp for everyone 5 or 6 of theirs. Nutrition and hydration should be a point of emphasis at all times of the year, but especially in summer workouts and the beginning of the season.
yeah, nutrition and hydration are a 7 day a week thing and few realize that and processed foods don't help and energy drinks are el diablo.

We still have a number of coaches (and parents) in this state who believe water breaks are for sissies.

The HS programs that are teaching proper nutrition and hydration are very few in number.

An issue at every level, and maybe worse in HS than college/NFL.

So is this the summary?

Kid just comes back from Covid
After practice, Coach punishes kid for missing due to Covid by making him run extra
Trainer says don’t do that
Coach says keep running
Kid ends up in hospital

Prior to this, 3 other kids previously sent to hospital this pre season

Is this correct?

probably playing candy crush, not many coaches include them in much

There are heat guidelines in place. Every LHSAA coach knows them. Most are following If you are not, you are putting kids at increased risk 2) I would assume you would be held personally accountable for negligence 3). You are cheating. Practicing when others that follow the rules can’t.

If that's correct, coach needs a lifetime ban from the LHSAA.

As a response to the incident, Garvin reportedly reached out to other local coaches to discuss how to combat the extreme temperatures.

Uhhh

The LHSAA has rules about how this is supposed to be handled.

Or, you can just be reasonably intelligent and hold practice early in the morning, take more hydration breaks, etc.

You know how unlikely it would be to draw them again?
