IMO, any close call in that situation has to be called an out

Even if the runner wins the race by a half second(which is like 10 minutes in baseball) you call him out

IF it was some BIG NAME PITCHER he would have been OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

they should send the ball to Cooperstown mounted next to a picture of the blown call

i thought these perfect games were suppose to be rare or something

I think this is the first time in my life I've agreed with Joe Morgan

The ump needs to suspend himself. That was straight fricking awful to make that call. I dont care how close it was you make the call towards Galaragga anyway. Even the Indians baserunner was upset.

Kurkjian is saying the same about how respected Joyce is and how blown calls happen. frick that. I've seen so many more close plays than that.
This was so bad I ran to my neighbor's house to see if he saw it.

I disagree. Tie goes to the runner. You can't just give away a perfect game because the pitcher is close to a perfect game.
Not that this was even a tie.

lol, now they're showing the slow mo where he almost called him out...his initial reaction
now Harold is sitting there saying the ball was rattling around in the glove

good point on MLB network
u can see him starting to punch out
and the ball kinda moved in galaragga's glove(though he had control when he touched the base)
he called safe
thats exactly what happened

Actually the runner has to beat the ball Jim.

Maybe he's the best umpire in the world and no one else saw his laser eyes.
Whatever Detroit won, let's party.
