Kind of curious because I don’t know the answer, but are Student Athletes required to be on a degree path? Can a one and done basketball player just take easy elective classes for the 1.5 semesters they are on campus and be fine if they pass everything?

Regardless of what you think, why is it not an interesting discussion to be had?

Cfb journalists who are much smarter than this board seem to think it is a black eye for the university.

The premise that these guys are there for an education is a charade in the first place.

But they are there for education. A football education.

And Michigan higher ups are probably beating off to the thought of that because Michigan loves claiming superiority and the smell of it's own farts.

Only 46 P5 schools responded to this “AP survey”. I’m not sure how accurate your statement is.

Online classes are inferior in every single way when it comes to actually learning and understanding the material.

This is an ignorant take. Have you ever taken online classes? The ones I've taken require you to "attend" video recordings of the lectures online, and the professors are extremely accessible to online students through email and video conference, should they have questions about the material.

Many of the templates for online classes require more interaction amongst the students through written discussion boards, which is a medium that is generally not offered through a more traditional template.

I learned a great deal through the online classes I took, and many of them required a more thorough understanding of the subject material.

According to the article, 3/4 of the QBs in the playoffs this year have been exclusively taking online classes

Burrow and Hurts already have an undergrad. Online masters program makes sense for them. But again, online classes are taken by the team tutors

Fields and Sunshine are both sophmores. One of them only takes online courses?

You know? frick this board

This is an interesting topic that was being commented on most cfb pundits, including Feldman, Herbstreit, and Forde.

I agree with you here.

A lot of people bitch about how redundant these boards are getting, yet when an original topic is posted people shite all over the OP.

The OT is fraught with this.

Start a Lebron>MJ thread and watch it hit 10 pages though.

Good. Michigan is a top 20-30 school in the country. Sorry it has such high standards for the college athlete.

Great academic institutions like Florida, Wisconsin, and Notre Dame allow online classes for football players

Because it’s the only way most of them stay eligible.

The best part of this to me is that Michig8n people try to sell it as academic superiority.

Wait, you live on campus usually as an athlete, all your meals are in the cafeterias because they're paid for...

And you take online classes?

What do they call this, dorm-schooling?

Online classes weren't meant for students who are actually on campus on a daily basis.
