Is this a discussion topic you pulled out of a 3rd grade science book?

No, it’s a reaction to my son kicking a 70 yard field goal this weekend. It’s funny that a skinny high school student could kick it further than the NFL record…with the help of a shite ton of wind.

We are talking about real sports.

Play Ultimate at the elite level, and come back and tell me that's not a real sport. The best disc golfers in the world also happen to be pretty athletic just sayin'.

High crosswinds can tear the peloton apart in pro cycling. Those days in grand tours are as exciting as big mountain finishes.

If riders get distanced from the guys ahead when the wind blasts they can be screwed and lose a lot of time.

I played tennis for a long arse time, I never remember struggling with wind. Rather play into it…but can boom serves with it.

So question though, when NFL legs get that type of wind, why can’t they kick it 80?

They for sure can. When the Florida State coach asked Janikowski’s high school coach what his furthest field goal was in practice he said 86 yds.

I think the launch angle would be so low that the defensive would block it.

Did you see the Dallas kicker the other night? With wind and nobody blocking the kick I bet he could do that
