The wildcard playoffs were much more interesting last year. There were no good match ups this year except for Skins and Hawks.

Free agency and the hard salary cap ruined the NFL. No all time great teams anymore because of mass player movement. Everyone is basically even. The regular season means nothing.

It's too commercial now days. Roger Goodell has fricked it up.

Further away from college, less fricks given towards the college game.
I care about my team as much as I ever have but the game has gone downhill since Goodell started destroying the shield. So less general interest.

The Cowboys of the 90's were the last of the great "teams."

The Fans were robbed of seeing the greatest NFL dynasty of all times when welfare and socialism came to the NFL in 1994. What would have been perhaps 5 super bowls in 6 years? 4 in a row?

i am trying to watch these nfl games today but deep down in my heart i'd rather be wasting away in front of The Wire.

I used to be heavy into college football but now I fall asleep during games. And I hate that I do that because once football season is over I'm miserable.

definitely not as interested if the Saints aren't playing. I used to be able to turn it to any NFL game at anytime and be into it. I don't like how it has become so watered down now.
as for college, I've never had a rooting interest in a team before. I started out at Auburn in my early college years and had a lot of fun up there but was pretty indifferent about the football team. I finished the last 3 years of college at South Alabama and I follow the young program to an extent but it is just not the same as my interest for the Saints.

This is one of my biggest pet peeves. But salary caps and free agency are not socialism. They were not imposed by the government but rather thru an agreement of stake holders in the business. The old system was anti competitive, not allowing players to move when they wanted and Jerry Jones end the Cowboys dynasty when he ran off Jimmy Johnson, no way does Barry Switizer win multiple titles and losing Larry Brown and Alvin Harper was not that big of a deal.

i suppose everyone giving up on the NFL is now following the orchestra and the stage theater...
you're just being replaced gradually by a younger generation who's twittering instead of TDing it
i guess in NOLA it will be interesting to see if CJ can win over a fanbase of people that would rather see their old high schools if they can't get to BR on Saturdays. maybe Tulane is too far gone from the local community though with out of state students.
the Saints will always be the Saints until they suck, and LSU will always be LSU until they suck. The Hornets will be the Hornets again when they're good...

they lost much more than 2 people.
BTW Larry Brown was there after 1994 anyway so perhaps you do not know what you speak of?
Anti competitive? How so?

I'm paying more and more attention to the NFL than ever. Especially since bama has begun to win again.
I'm an odd duck. I hate the Saints because I feel like they take away print and interest from LSU. Just me.
Too many games on TV now. At least the NFL has some restrictions.
