Just curious. It’s on the south side, which is supposed to be dangerous.

Seems like a somewhat competitive with other stadiums despite being built in 1991.

So yeah what’s the good/bad?

Taking the subway may be the best way to go.

Many times....

Take the El (Red Line). Drops you off 3 blocks from the stadium. Also, if you prefer, they have a very organized uber pick up and drop off.

The stadium has been upgraded quite a bit, so the comments you here about it sucking are old and tired.

Do you have a preferred place to sit?

I went in 2010, so take it with a grain of salt. The area wasn’t great but there were some bars north of the stadium we didn’t really check out but looked potentially fun. I never felt unsafe around the stadium but didn’t exactly linger around

As far as the actual stadium I think it gets kind of a bad rap among people when I’ve seen opinions on it. It isn’t one of the nouveau parks like Camden or PNC but was nice and updated inside. Great beer and food options and I imagine they’ve only gotten better in the last 10 years as they have in every park.

In the outfield the concourse is wide open so you can see the field unobstructed if you aren’t at a seat. This is very underrated IMO. Wasn’t scenic or beautiful or anything but overall good place to see a game

Was there in 05 for the world series vs Houston. I'm sure its changed a lot since then but we took the subway to and from and never had any problems.

Just stay out of Fuller Park, which isn't too far south of Guaranteed Rate, and you'll be fine.

Bridgeport is an immediate neighborhood that has been gentrified - a lot of very cool bars and restaurants there. One of my favorites is Pleasant House Pub. Other than that, you'll see a lot of fans at Turtle's and Cork & Kerry before games.

Take the Red Line. It's easy.

Another vote for Cork and Kerry...and Shinnicks if you can stand outside.

I have not been, but some of my friends say Marz Brewing has some great beers if you are into micro breweries.

And 35th St Red Hots if you are in a rush for a quick bite.

It's Comiskey Park dammit.

Yes, it's on the south side but Bridgeport hasn't been a bad area for a long time, I wouldn't worry about it. Just don't accidentally go 30 blocks south, you'll be in Englewood.

Red Line pretty much drops you off right outside, but driving and parking is pretty painless too.

There have been a lot of updates since it was built, but it's honestly a pretty generic stadium. Nothing bad, but nothing to write home about. Beer and food options are pretty solid.

Go for fireworks night if you can.

I went twice in the 90s, the location wasn't good then but it wasn't that bad. Large police presence in the parking lots.

When's the last time you heard about a white out of towner on his way to the White Sox game getting caught up in one of the 70 shootings a week in South Chicago?

Never? You'll be fine.

Never?

Never because it doesn’t fit the media’s narrative

The Red Line has a stop literally outside the stadium, take it, you will be fine.

I don't want to say it's in a bad neighborhood, but JJ, Wilona, Thelma, and Florida live 2 blocks over...
