It's not even close. Durant Westbrook and maybe Kawai are better than curry. Curry is the NBA version of AJ Mcarron if they would've gave Mcarron the heisman.

If a middle school Special Needs class produced an episode of "First Take" as a project, this is the type of argument that would be presented.

Curry may be growing into the king of hyperbolic fan hot takes.

Curry was the best player in the league this regular season.

He has struggled more at times in the playoffs and definitely comes in behind Lebron this post season.

Some of this other nonsense in this thread though I can't shake my head enough. I have to imagine most people are just post season NBA fans for saying what they do. Or suffer brain damage that has ruined their long term memory.

So... The Thunder have 2 of the 3 best players in the NBA and they can't win shite?

Damn talk about choking losers.

Curry played at an historic level this year.

People have forgotten quickly that he's actually been hurt enough to miss time this postseason.

The Warriors brought him back earlier than they wanted to because he's that important to them...even though they are great without him (they are a 55 win team without him)...but damn his play put them at an all time level.

He hasn't been the same since the injury. He will have surgery.

He's healthy enough to play, so excuses aren't really justified...but he's not at his peak.

There is a narrative that LeBron just told him "no, this is my league"....I don't think it's 100% accurate...because why would he wait so long?

Stop acting like Curry wasnt better than Lebron this season. He was so much better that he won the MVP unanimously.
Just because Lebron has gone off these last 2 games it doesnt erase Steph being the better player this year.

One Great season doesn't give you the honor of best player (I realize Curry has put together TWO). It's like saying Cam Newton is better than Rodgers, Brady and Brees, which would be blasphemous. Lebron has been at the top for years. Curry doesn't take over the spot just because he had a better season. He would have to do this for years, and Lebrons numbers would have to greatly decrease. I mean, we are seeing right now who the best guy is.

Listen, I know I am labeled as LeBron hater here-which is false....but Curry is not himself. He's still awesome, but he's not playing at the level he was before the knee injury or the elbow injury.

To reject that is being intellectually dishonest.

That being said of course LeBron is raising his game in the playoffs. He's an all timer.

But you would say Lebron is the better player, regardless of Curry having the better season.

Just bc somebody had a better season doesn't make them a better player. LBJ knows how unimportant the regular season is. That's why his numbers are better in the postseason. The regular season also fits Curry's style of play better. No in depth game plans. Less physical, less defensive effort, and of course not near the pressure.

What a thread this turned into...one guy thinks he can score 18-21 pts in the NBA, the other just compared Curry to AJ Mccarron. I seriously can't stop laughing right now.

I say they are about what and what, in different ways, when both are healthy.

I'll concede that Curry gets a little lackadaisical with the ball...but he's a double once he crosses half court.

Difference this postseason is both OKC and the Cavs are guarding the Curry/Green PnR with someone who can switch and keep up with Curry who's MCL is damaged enough that he is far less effective beating the switch and finishing at the hole.

That's been the true difference...

Steph can drop 100 and there's nothing to shut up about.

James is the better overall player and has shown it this series.

Hell, he was better during their series last year (basically averaged a triple double). Not sure what else the man can do before people start acknowledging that he is the best.
