I hate it, but I would do the same thing in his position. It's within the rules and strategically a smart thing to do. If you want to stop it, make your free throws. Teams did it to Shaq and much of the time he made them pay for it.

Just like all sports, it is a rule that should be changed, but until they do, I am not going to blame a guy for taking advantage of it. This isn't like Saban breaking the spirit of the rules and forcing them to change it to his liking.

A player has a glaring weakness
Opposing team plays within the rules to exploit said weakness

Makes sense to me.

Nah, I don't have a problem with it. Jordan should work on his free throws

The Clippers could pull Jordan out when they get into the shooting foul situation. Problem is they have no depth. The Spurs have bunches.

It's Doc Rivers fault. He can cook but he's not too good at shopping for the groceries.

1. i hate the spurs
2. i hate pop
3. i hate the hack a shaq

But its the nba's fault for having the rule, so nothing wrong with doing it.

and above everything else.. you're playing in the NBA getting paid millions to play a game! Learn how to make a freaking freethrow! Its the easiest shot in basketball. Spend hours every day just shooting freethrows if you know its a weakness to your team. Its your only job, its not like you have a regular 9-5 you have to be at and dont have time! Get in the dam gym and practice. I have not played basketball in years, but i guarantee you that if you told me next week you would give me 1 million dollars if i could hit 60 out of 100 freethrows i could, and probably be 60-70% in all honesty. Its the easiest shot in the game, its FREE!

You're right.

Players that shoot so bad at the FT line they get intentionally fouled really need to get their shite together.

Why feel bad BC the other team put a player on the floor who can't shoot FTs?

It's professional basketball, learn to shoot FTs

Even Tim Duncan is embarrassed about it. They said last night Duncan apologized every time to Jordan, telling him that they were just following orders.
Duncan may be embarrassed for Jordan, who can't make a free throw. But he's not embarrassed about winning.

Frick no. He's admitting that the other team has a weakness, and he's smart enough to exploit it.

I hate the spurs and the clippers. I don't want either team to win, but since one of them has to I love that Pop is using the hack a Deandre. Let's just watch the world burn

Anyone else think DeAndre Jordan is a giant pussy for being a "professional" basketball player whose free-throw shooting is so bad that the other team intentionally fouls him?

If they are like Shaq who couldn't hit a FT if his life depended on it, sounds like a good strategy to me.

I think there should be something to prevent it though. Add an extra FT or something. shite is out of control

Change the rules because someone can't make a free throw. How about these professionals spend a little more time in practice on free throws? Or is that too much to ask for someone playing a game for a ridiculous amount of money?

I think everyone understands why it happens. It just renders the game unwatchable when it happens for 10 minute stretches.

No. its called exploiting a weakness of your opponent. Is stacking the box against LSU knowing their weakness at QB a "pussy" move. NO its part of the game. Make FTs if you don't like it
