There is no flaw. The flaw lies with shitty free throw shooters. Make your damn free throws or sit down.
No, the flaw lies with the rule.

There is a foul limit for players for a reason. It was put in place so that guys can't just foul all over the place to stop teams from scoring. If you did, there were consequences.

Are you against foul limits?

Nope, it never happens to complete players who make free throws.

Yep

And hack-a-chump fouls count towards that limit, no?

There still are.

I am not.

You're just butthurt because the Rockettes have a roster full of shitty free throw shooters. ETA - Are you really arguing that the Spurs are inept defensively?
I'm not against it because the Rockets have bad free throw shooters. I personally don't think the strategy is very effective, so I don't mind when teams do it to the Rockets from that standpoint.

But because teams do it to the Rockets so often, I've had to sit through many games of that nonsense, and it's boring.

And no, I'm not calling the Spurs inept defensively overall. But in an individual game, yeah, they may no it be playing well on that end of the floor. Coaches have said one reason they do it is to keep the ball out of the super star's hands.

Yes, but my point is that clearly the current rules did not do enough to prevent intentional fouling. Therefore, the rules need to be addressed to clean this up, because the game was not meant to be played like this.

While not fast paced, it certainly adds drama, as the strategy and results forces the counter move-to pull or not to pull.

Also, the added pressure on the player makes for good entertainment.

So you are against it because teams do it to the Rockettes. Teams do it against the Rockettes because they have a bunch of fundamentally flawed players. So, it goes back to you being against it because the Rockettes have a bunch of shitty free throw shooters.

how does a 5 yard penalty cause another team to kick a fg

It's the same thing. Rewarding a team who is behind for intentionally commiting an infraction by forcing the team in the lead into a forced play (free throw or fg) that will result in them giving up possession possibly with no points.

Would be like a football team jumping offsides when down 2 TDs in the final 2 minutes and forcing the offense to kick a 45 yard fg. DUMB

You just made my head hurt with how impressively bad you are at analogies. Holy shite.

You were talking about bad free throw shooters from a strategic standpoint.

I'm talking about from an entertainment standpoint. I'm against it because it's boring and takes away from the fans' enjoyment of the game.

And I'm not saying it's specifically because teams do it to the Rockets. I'm saying because I watch so many Rockets games, I've sat through many boring and slow games because of the strategy. It's boring no matter which teams are playing. I'm saying I know first-hand how boring it is.

I'm not "butthurt" that teams are trying to take advantage of the Rockets' bad free throw shooters.
