Poor guy. Scruffy doesn’t understand how hard his life must be with his meager salary.

Day to day life must be tough.

He's definitely OT poor.

Can you imagine the stress he must be under year round?!

How will he pay his bills?

Plus, having to work from September to January must be a truly daunting task.

And Scruffy already felt bad to teachers, but this is a whole different level of tough.

While I agree, he also signed the big contract fully knowing what was in it, and this wasn't one of those contracts where it was known he'd be cut late in it.

Scruffy usually only refers to himself in the 3rd person on the OT. Not sure why he’s doing it on the more sports board but it is matterless

I think people are misinterpreting what he said

He’s not saying “ I need a new contract”, he’s saying “I’m not signing a new contract unless it adds in more guarantees in my contract”

Basically he’s not going to restructure and give away money to make a trade work. Either trade for his contract and what comes with it or offer a restructure that makes sense for him to take

After reading his quotes, one would think he didn’t take a lot of English courses at Central Michigan.

Why are people supporting more guaranteed contacts? These contracts are killers in all the other sports. I understand wanting to get more money and using your leverage. But why do fans care and why would you want a player killing your payroll flexibility in the future?

Jesus I thought the AD drama was silly. AB puts him to shame. Demanding to be traded with multiple years left than tanking the value regardless of destination. I get the NFL is a different animal entirely but the contrasts are a little nuts. The media is slamming Davis for much less.

Some people can understand the off the field realities of the sport and understand a player going after his proper value

If teams can get out of these deals whenever they want, why shouldn’t the players?

Perhaps some behind the scenes work from his presumably well paid agent would pay more dividends than Mr Big Chest blasting out gibberish on IG

Maybe. But given the fact that even if he’s traded he has a 20 million dollar cap hold for the Steelers this year, it’s probable that this is the only was to actually make a trade happen by making it a completely unstable situation. Steelers would not be anxious to make this move if he were a model citizen about this whole thing I can promise you that
