Tomlin is by far the second most accomplished coach in the nfl right now behind Bill
People saying he should have been fired already are nuts

For those saying Tomlin should have been fired, exactly what do y’all think should have happened to Payton? Fired and burned at the stake?
Tomlin
116-61 for a .654 win pct
2 Super Bowls made- 1 win and 1 loss
Playoff made in 8/11 seasons
Payton
105-71 for a .597 win pct
1 super bowl made for 1 win
Playoffs made in 6/11 seasons
I am on your side here but there were tons of people wanting Sean fired. Idiots of course. I could only imagine many more if this was going on.

I’m a packer fan. There are folks who want to fire MM.
I always say fine. But, tell me who we are gonna hire. Who is out there that is better? Who has accomplished as much.
There are usually some hot assistants, but firing a proven coach for an unknown is usually not a smart move.
The last 12 years of Chuck Noll’s run in Pitt produced one 10 win season. Was it white privilege that kept him employed. ;)

If you believe players are tired of his message or his tactics with them aren’t working you can make a case.
That doesn’t appear to be the case considering they have been to the playoffs 4 consecutive years.

Apparently it was for a family issue. Nothing here. Brown will be back.

That's different. The Steelers are one of the three most storied franchises in the NFL. The Saints were terrible before Payton.

That's unfair...to TJ Watt. Ben isn't 3rd best this year.

Explain to me how that has any relevance in the nfl
Also,
Tomlin
116-61 for a .654 win pct
2 Super Bowls made- 1 win and 1 loss
Playoff made in 8/11 seasons
Garret
67-54 for a .554 win pct
0 super bowl appearances
made the playoffs 2/8 seasons
The poster thinking Tomlin is kept on because he is black is a godamn terrified idiot who is worried the black man will take his job or a BBC is randomly going to fly in his wifes arse
The truth is, tomlin is 31st on the list on nfl coaches who should be fired

This makes way more sense. I couldn't believe an unexcused absence from AB would have a day delay in reporting.
The Steelers are already under a lot of media scrutiny and I assumed the media would have been on it a lot faster.

Tomlin suks at demanding discipline and efffort. He’s a fraud and has been exposed

Somebody needs to create a photoshop of Antonio Brown in a Patriots jersey.
Josh Gordon, AB and Gronk on the Pats would be so awesome and I don't even like the Pats.

The Steelers were irrelevant for the first 40 years of their existence, and several franchises have as many or more Super Bowl wins than them since the end of their dynasty.
Fantastic organization, but it's not like Tomlin is failing to live up to multiple eras of success spanning several decades. His tenure has arguably been the 2nd best in franchise history. The heat he gets is laughable.

To be fair alot of people wanted Payton gone before they turned it around last year
Posted on 9/18/18 at 2:09 pm to nvasil1
Uhhh what?
The Steelers have only missed the playoffs 16 times since 1972. So they have made the playoffs 63% of the time since.
They are the pure definition of a franchise having “multiple eras of success spanning several decades”.
Also, no team has made the playoffs more than the Steelers since 1972.

It is pretty easy to always be in contention for the playoffs when you have the bengals and browns in your division.
