"It was later ascertained that but for the fentanyl, Mr. Skaggs would not have died," Nealy Cox's office wrote in a news release.

"Hoe [sic] many?" Kay asked Skaggs in a text message obtained by investigators.
"Just a few like 5," the pitcher replied.
If a few opiods = 5 in your book, you weren't gonna make it to 2020

Most opiod addicts take as many as 20-25 a day. 5 is like what they take when they wake up in the morning.

Director of Communications
Clubhouse Attendants
All of these employees are no more than runners for MLB players to get them whatever they need.
Every professional sports team probably has a designated runner disguised as a nice title that does all the dirty work.

will be interesting to see how this develops, though i don't see him being found guilty or culpable for the death... would open up a whole multitude of problems for doctors and pharmacists, who could fall into the same category, possibly, down the road, if this charge succeeds...
something to watch, for sure...

Angels organization doing some major butt clenching. Bet this guy isn't gonna go down willingly as the fall guy. I'd be almost certain there were more people than just him who knew what was going on.

Yeah, some of the quotes from Rusty Hardin et al are pretty sad. They're kind of making this guy out to be some nefarious drug dealer.
quote:
"The family is deeply heartbroken to learn that Tyler would be alive today were it not for a pill containing fentanyl that was provided by the Director of Communications of the Angels,"
I get that this guy did contribute to the OD, but it's not like he was forcing anything on to anyone who didn't want it.

As opposed to a passive addiction? Not being a smart arse, but is that a thing?

Thanks for sharing that with us.
One day at a time.

No shite. The people with tolerances that high can’t afford Roxies they moved to heroin a long time ago.

The 12 step programs preach once an addict always an addict. Active addiction is when the addict was actually using.

No not really. Someone might take that many lortabs in a day but that would be $750/day I. Roxies. No way you’re average junkie can afford that or even steal that much ever day. Anyone with a tolerance that high would be doing heroin.

yeah, that was my DOC, and before it became a CII and before they mandated only 325mg of acetaminophen per tablet max, it was possible to sustain that type of habit... but now, with less options to pick from, plus having to have exact counts of your on-hands, it would be pretty much impossible to sustain a habit that bad...

Gotcha. Thanks.

I graduated through all the levels of opiates before I finally got my act together. I’m lucky I didn’t end up like Skaggs because I was well on my way
