Just watched video of the onsides kick that ASH recovered. They dribbled it straight forward and hit the guy trying to recover it before he got a chance to field the ball. That’s illegal and should have been called.

I caught the last 3 minutes via someones fb feed. couldnt tell very well what was going on because the iphone video was so zoomed out.
for the love of god, in a high school football game it shouldn't take 30+ minutes to play the last 3 minutes of the clock. kind of a BS situation. Im not a conspiracy theory type of person but the LHSAA needs to keep this kind of garbage from happening again.

The ref was blocking the linebacker from covering the tight end on the 2 point conversion if you want to split hairs

Hope it was really egregious. You can’t make that call if it’s ticky tack.
They should be a fricking shamed. I took up fir the reds all the way home. That was some shite.

From a completely unbiased opinion, that was a bullshite call. If you look closely you can see clear as day that the ref who threw the flag was the same jackass that called Miami for PI back in the 03 Fiesta.

I can’t imagine being a ASH player right now. It’s probably better than the ending of Friday Night Lights.

Should have gone for 1 and prolonged game. Maybe they fumble in OT.
After the penalty you for sure should have gone for 1

I'm thinking Bachman thought his team was getting worn down by Acadiana and wanted to end it right there. The penalty gave him more room to work with and wasn't that much of a hindrance.
It's a shame that a championship is decided by officials whether they are right or wrong.
Acadiana is a worthy champion and ASH is on the rise. This rivalry is just getting started.

I can’t get behind the going for two after the penalty either. If I remember correctly, Acadiana was up 28-14 going into the 4th. So ASH outscored them 20-7 in the 4th. I would have taken my chances in OT.

First of all for all you that know it all, there is only 1 referee on the field the guy in the white hat. The two guys on the line of scrimmage are the head linesman(opposite pressbox with chains) and line judge (press box side) the SIDE judge and field judge are 20 yards down field except inside the 7 where they are on the end line.
From what I understand BOTH short wing officials had the receiver nearest them "chucked" as OFF The line, It generally if the player is close to the line they will very by verbally saying #1 are you off and 99% of the time the player will point backwards if off or DOWN if he is on and then the wing official on that side drops his chuck. From the video angles during the game you could not see the nearside official chuck back - but you could see the far side guy chucking and apparently so was the near side guy. And if #11 is not off the line and is in fact ON the line the tight end is covered therefore he is ineligible. Acadiana coaches were screaming for false start pretty loudly. By rule it was 5 in the back field and an illegal formation, so nobody screwed Ash. If it's not and illegal formation it's ineligible downfield or illegal shift or even false start. Sucks for Ash but... lining up in an illegal formation is a HUGE advantage for offense and will/should get called everytime. LSU pride you were right, I realized it as soon as I looked at hudl and saw the far side chuck, the "social media" reporters on the sideline failed to mention the line judge chucking and HL chucking.

LSUPRIDE87 Acadiana coaches thought it was false start - because from back that's what it looked like to them.

quote:yes, the sideline guys and the guys covering the games got so many calls wrong - i put little faith in them. Again it sucks for Ash, but like most of the "hairy calls" this week the officials got it right. available camera angles and lack of knowledge of HS rules added to the confusion. I hate sideline cell phone angles.\

I'm just thrilled the schools, coaches, admins, LHSAA and officials worked together to get in a completed season. the kids needed. Heck I needed it

ASH fan here. But when he just dropped it at his feet you had to know he didn’t want to call it. But rules are rules. (Or I read too much into it and that’s how he always throws his flag??!)

On those fouls that become a foul at the snap, yes you don’t throw it high. Can let illegal motion go though. Gives O huge advantage because D is reacting and reading motion and KNOWING the can’t snap it then.
