I'm pretty sure going swim in $100 bills would make me forget the boos. As far the family, like others said, he knowingly left them there. I'm sure they discussed this during contract talks, and his family or wife said they would stay in stl no matter what. If it was that important I assume he would stay with or near them.

So it can't be possible that he did what's best for his family, but it's still not easy??

Well, i'm not just talking about being booed. My initial response was to someone saying they wouldn't feel sorry for him solely because he had money. I think that's silly.

Also, how'd swimming in $100 bills work out for Junior Seau? Too soon?

If Albert Pujols is 31 then Julio Franco is only 27 IMO FWIW

You a-holes!!!

I'm getting off track in my stance here so I'll sum it up lol.

2 guys, both took a raise and relocated for a new job. Both leave their family back home, thinking that's the best decision for their families(just an assumption here). Both are performing horribly at their new job.

If one is making $60K a year and the other guy $25mil, i honestly don't understand why you can feel sorry for one and not the other. They're both humans, and they're both struggling and blah blah blah.

Sure, it's nice to have $250mil to fall back on, but that doesn't cure everything. Ask Kurt Cobain. Ok, that was definitely not too soon.

Mackey said it without saying it...Pujols has won rings, had god-like status is St Louis, has 9 figures in the bank, would have had statues, buildings, and streets named after him, was on a contender that had just won the WS...he left for money and money alone and if he isn't living up to his end of the bargain then has nothing to point at but himself.

Not getting into a "is booing acceptable in professional sports" argument, I'm just looking at performance vs expectations and he isn't living up to expectations(quarter of a billion dollar contract, you can't really slump for a month and still have people hold your hand saying it'll be ok...this is a month he'll never have back)

If you're not a cardinals fan, what has Albert Pujols ever done to not have the support of baseball fans everywhere? The guy has been the best hitter in the game for 10 years, he's earned a big contract and you're crazy if you think he's going to be this bad for the entire year.

A lot of hitters go downhill quickly once they turn 35. I doubt he is this bad all season, but I wouldn't be surprised if he never produces like he did in St. Louis again.

Yeah I don't believe he's quite 31 but maybe not 35. And I agree hitters fall off but he is arguably a GOAT candidate so you gotta believe he doesn't just go from .300-30-100-100 for 10 years to like .220-10-60-60, which I think there are fools out there who believe that.

His average can only go up. A good hitter can turn a shitty average into a respectable one very quickly.

And I'm just assuming he'll still pop 20+ home runs this year, for his sake.

Players tend to play to their baseball cards during the course of a season and Puh-roids is no exception. He started slow last year as well.

I think Puhols's best years are in his rear view mirror, but his best years were so good that even so his numbers will end up being relatively impressive for the next few years.

But when you dump that much money on a guy I think the fans have every right to hold players accountable to the standard at which they are being paid. They'll cheer if and when he produces.
