not sure if serious, but.....the difference between Blackmon’s 187 wRC+ at home and his 111 on the road is the second-greatest in the majors to Eddie Rosario.

I'm honestly not a sabremetrics guy so I did not know that.

Seriously? Statements like that show you cannot be any more biased

Sure, I'm an Astros fan who will admit to some bias. However, to give it to a guy who basically disappeared for a third of the season over a guy who has done what Altuve has done is ridiculous.

Altuve and Stanton....

Wouldn't be surprised by players such as Judge, Votto, Goldschmidt winning though a lot of them deserve it

a 3rd of the season?

this is Judge's OPS by month

April/March 1.161 (22G)
May 1.084 (26G)
June 1.167 (28 G)
July .847 (23G)
Aug .680 (26G)
Sept 1.352 (27G)

now a 3rd of season would be 54 games. Where exactly is the 54 game stretch where he "disappeared"

Is that supposed to be more impressive than Judge's?

Literally said just for the record, trying to have a complete conversation.

Trying to avoid everyone cherry picking random stats like baseball nerds tend to do. Like hey look at wBBXX+-+ it's the best ever

I guess I'm missing your point. I was just curious where judge disappeared for 1/3 of the season. At worst he had a poor 30 game skid where he still managed to maintain .350 OBP

I just watch the game, over the course of the season, without a personally weighted calculator in my lap. I think Altuve deserves the award.

Altuve is a lock.

Votto would get my vote in the Senior Circuit.

I hear you. I actually looked at Altuve but didn't post his because I thought it would have buried any argument you guys had relating to that specific topic

Those are some damn good numbers but Judge's are on another level

Hey Houston! your MVP candidates are pretty good but here is some new random guy having a stupid year. Y'all are good for small market so just keep it up and see what happens in the playoffs.

This altuve thing is building up on Houston collective blue balls

Judge OPS+ 171
Altuve OPS+ 165

Judge wRC+ 173
Altuve wRC+ 160

Altuve had 32 stolen based vs. 6 caught stealing. Almost comparable to having +26 more doubles than the 39 he had. (Not perfect but think of a SB turning a single into a double)

Judge has 9 SB and 4 CS or +5.

Neither wRC+ not OPS+ account for stealing bases.

Plus, as WAR shows (as well as WAR/gm- Altuve played a few less) a good second basemen is more valuable than a good right fielder. BR gives Altuve +4 for playing 2B and -6 for Judge being a RF.

Altuve should win MVP.

Should be a good series. Yankees are better than the Red Sox.

Judge had 132 free passes compared to 67 for Altuve. Judge had +132 hits than the 154 hits he already had.

lol. What a stupid fricking point
