Brees and Rodgers each have 1 super bowl, but that should have no bearing on GOAT status as it is a TEAM accomplishment.

Rodgers is exceptional but way too early to start discussing his legacy.

Lol 1 is not >1 so there's that

ETA: It's my personal opinion that it's hard for me to consider QBs playing today in the NFLs offensive friendly league the GOAT, so I would say no, although he will finish with great stats if he stays healthy

Johnny Unitas in todays league would be awesome. He used to put up those passing numbers with weak receivers compared to today, no pass interference calls, and no rules protecting QBs. He used to get just destroyed on late hits and cheap shots and would stand back up and break more passing records.

I am biased, he is my dads hero so growing up I used to hear allllll about Johnny U and watch his old games with my dad.

Unlike the other current greats in the conversation, (Manning/Brady/Brees) he's played a much larger portion of his career in the inflated passing era.

Not saying it disqualifies him, just that the context needs to be applied to the conversation.

I say he'll finish top 5 all time. I did have Aaron then Tom then Peyton then Brees going into this year, my top four has definitely changed. For the record, I'm talking current players, obviously.

Now I'd say it's Peyton, fair gap, Aaron, big gap, Brees, big gap, Brady.

I agree to an extent...does the athleticism of todays DBs/defensive schemes compared to back then come into the equation? Or is that negated by the fact todays receivers are better than back then, along with the evolution of the offenses?

Not this season

Also, Rodgers has a SB win and an MVP. To put Ryan in the same discussion as him is an insult.

At the end of this season, Manning will be a 7-time first team All-Pro, Five time MVP and possibly another ring. The statistical records and stuff are secondary.

QBs are judged by their relative stature in their era. Rodgers has been the best quarterback in the league for a total of one year. Just not gonna happen.

its hard to judge todays qb as best of alltime

The game is played so much different now compared to just 15 years ago

Defense is encouraged to not play or attack the way they use too..which it shows in these crazy numbers being put up by good qbs

yesterdays good qbs are great today
