I miss the old days when you could obliterate a pussy QB like Murray without consequence.

Nah, that’s what’s called a cheap shot. No better than a sucker punch. But you’ve been defending Alabama all throughout this board so that’s not shocking.

It’s obvious everyone at ESPN was given their marching orders to push in Bama.

I read an article on-line maybe on the ESPN website where the commentator said that unless FSU managed to "blow-out" Florida that their chances of making the 4 team playoff were diminished to the point of being unrealistic.

FSU didn't blow out Florida or Louisville, so, the commentator's prediction was spot-on, once Bama beat GA.

You tend to have really highly rated defenses when you play crappy offenses every week.

You tend to have low rated offenses when you play elite defenses every week.

Cool story. Now explain to everyone how LSU managed to make the BCS in 2007 with 2 losses?

Not sure how this is even remotely relevant since there were ZERO undefeated teams that year. One loss West Virginia goes that year instead of LSU except they lost to 25 point underdog Pittsburgh the last week of the season.

Except I can go look at Iowa and Nebraska and Illinois and Wisconsin and look at what they put up out of conference and it wasn’t a lot of points. They were terrible offensive football teams.

Murray also made the point that it wasn’t like Travis was 2010 Cam Newton. And Hester said he talked to the head of the Senior Bowl and he said Travis wasn’t even getting an invite there. Was going to be a 6th or 7th rounder most likely.

Florida State’s got Sunday dudes all over the field. 3 better WRs than Michigan’s best. Got a better RB too. And Michigan doesn’t have a Verse out there murdering motherfrickers. With a month to prepare, their backup QB can’t hand the ball off as good as McCarthy? Why don’t they get the opportunity to win by controlling the ball and playing smothering defense?

Iowa never had Deion Sanders though. It’s one thing to put guys in the NFL, but it’s another to put guys that casual fans can name

So what.

The best offense in the country put up 24 points OOC. It happens.

That gets inflated when you get to play teams like Iowa. I made some good money this season blindly betting the under on that trainwreck.

It was obvious during the ACC game that Tess would not stop toting the water for Bama. It was so obvious, this whole thing should make every fan of every team and cfb discusted.

The undefeated team that should have been bounced out was Michigan.

Are we still talking about college football or the subjective thoughts of imperfect human nature? I'll stand by.

They are one and the same thing.

Not the other 90% of the playoff's existence. The first 9 years they were completely objective and selected based on resume only. Not the subjective "eye test" or who would hypothetically beat who. This year they did the exact opposite.

Seems to me that the eye test subjectivity has always been there as a last resort, if they must use it.

That's been my point all along - that for over 100 years determining the CFB mythical Champion has always used factors that are heavily subjective. That is my premise.

If I'm wrong about that, I should delete all of my posts.

Said Klatt and the FOX PBP guy were praising Michigan (and Iowa) for how hard-fought and awesome the defensive performances were, like both teams were the ‘85 Bears. While the guys doing the Florida State/Louisville game were basically dogging FSU the whole game and wondering if they were doing enough to make the top 4. Said the vibe from the respective booths was almost opposite for relatively similar games.

Murray is sort of right in his assessment.

The B1G CG wasn't much of a contest, and Gus Johnson gets overly excited about everything anyway, so I think he and Klatt were doing what they could to talk up a snoozer.

I didn't think Tess and Palmer really dogged FSU so much, but it was almost like they already knew what was coming if they didn't start putting Louisville away sooner.

Towards the end of the game, Palmer even wanted FSU to go for "style points" and score a TD instead of settling for a FG, as if it might've still saved them from getting screwed by the committee.
